  1. OK, hold your breath it is happening someone is going to be straight and to the point without holding punches. Firstly, lets get this out of the way expansion great looking a lot of effort has been put in! Sadly, not so much in to the game play and design! Terrible, poor standard of implementation, with no fore thought or after thought it would seem. 1) LFG groups are still so badly designed they are a joke and it is not a wonder why people are not using them as much as they could be used. 2) LFG offering LI or KP requests of any number shows how badly it is designed. 3) LFG groups jumping in to the meta only and doing nothing to progress the map to the meta reaping only the rewards. For as little effort. 4) LFG Group arrives on map and how ever nicely it is phrased get off the f”## map if you are not doing the meta. Is what is now common. When the expansion launched lots of old players that bought had high hopes for it to be better. Well, I know 1 player that is now care taking 160 accounts since the launch of the expansion from one guild that all decided this is enough and left. Here is the issue I think most of the content and game designers forget. When you design content for a game aimed at bringing or watchd by new player you need to forget everything you know about the game. It seems that you expected player to come in to this expansion with buying the previous and get learning the game. But it seems to want that new mount and are goign to try to get it and lot too have used boosters and other means to get in to the expansion and have no understanding about the game in general let alone the new mechanics or how to deal with them. As most of the older player (in time playing) had real issues get in to it. If you feel that everyone wants this then you need to read the chat more closely. Because from what I am seeing is people confused and feed up with it and go play something else or back to base game content. Now, I have no issues with having these mechanics in the game, even in the open world. What I do think is a total lack of care for the players is the way it has been implemented. By that I mean it should have been able to have a modes in the open world like challenge modes, with ranging difficulties to get people used to them slowly at a level that new players can handle. After all all maps are instances anyway so it should not be hard to make a difficultly level progression like the one in fractals. You see it is not rocket science and nor is it something you have not done before, it is just a lack of thought or a monetary curb. Or you felt you had to launch the expansion. Here is the thing player are upset with what you have delivered like never before. You only have your selves to blame for the design and implementation. If you are playing a game as a designer and when you are building and testing it you have god like abilities you will never see what it is like to a new player. Also, the fact that all this mechanics was dropped on players in open world I think you made a large underestimate of the back lash and the same goes with all the locked content behind doors and gates. Remember we all pay money to play a game that we like and enjoy and we all strive to be the best at what we enjoy even if that is farming nodes or fishing. So, why not give these modes separate maps instances then meta maps can do what they like and are not attacking people in chat. Options in no particular order: a) Make meta event like Soo-Won an instance fight after the 3rd stage. b) Make the meta a squad requirement with automatic squad formation via NPC map holding squad system. c) Meta maps do not close them if it has started, unless the time has run out. d) Prevent LFG for non map progression Squads. e) Make maps level increase able so that people have no excuse to whine we need it harder or softer. f) Block any form of LFG LI or Kp in open world. g) Give farmers and fishing players an instanced map for them I mean you really did not think about this game mode. h) May be LFG Learning meta maps where the map is designed for learning, wow there is a thought for you to mull over. I) I wonder why the game is called guild wars so often as there is so little to do in guilds. Why not make guild missions any content in game that a squad of guild players are in together rather than these dead old mission. J) Why not set a strike as guild mission as well with variable levels or mechanics to teach people. K) Map population max for map and how many on map. At least this way we can see what is going on and then it put pay to all the rubbish talk. L) LFG squad fo meta should only be advertised if commander or group on map then the squad number and taken places can be seen and then map number also that way it will be easier to merge maps. The only reason I can see for not doing this is that you have set the bar to a certain level to stop people completing it and going no content. It would seem you are gating the content to ensure no back lash from lack of content or you have other reasons. I fully expect some back lash here from the LFG LI & Kper’s, but really who cares about elitist that need the very best team around them because they really do need them. DPS Alac quickness no sorry your build is no good, yes I know you picked me up ten times in the last fight but I was dpsing and you did nothing even though your condi was hitting only 5k dPS than my max when I was up. But something need to get sorted before we get any more patchesor updates or all the good work is wasted. OK kick time here it comes bring it on!
  2. Maybe we should also talk about the guilds, that have websites and servers out there. That will have to spend time and money changing things to these new alliances. or just add a badge of a screw? Humans make communities! Some of the community are all for changes in WVW and that has been needed for a long time, without question. May be how we go about it, as the actual people that play the game, the customer and the life of the game should have more of a say? It has been Guild Wars as a community that has kept this game moving forward and alive. Yes the company sees profit in it or they would just say we are done. Guild Wars for many years has been a player based community all pulling in the same direction, enjoyment of the game. A game that has seemed to deliver great content and updates, with some excellent content and some poorly forgotten content as well. Guilds have been formed and player join them to play together as friends. So, it is no wonder why people get upset at change that breaks the bonds apart. Nearly every other game out there wishes it had the player base of guild wars, for it is a nice and great community. What, ANET calls this restructuring or alliances it should not break guilds apart! It should not force people to play the game they have chosen, any different in the terms of with whom they wish. A guild is a guild and if you have joined it for the friendship and community, then you should be able to play with them together no matter what content. Solo Roamers that do not want to be in a team or guild. If you are not in a guild and you roam and just have fun then. So, be it have a roamer server so that you are not getting mobbed by the blobs, as it will not matter if you are in a guild and maybe a map of your own for roamers, that just run around fighting guards and each other. Yet, think about that a world that is one vs everything, but all have a set skills and set armor and weapon stats and traits locked as you really seem to want to just ping targets and get participation then do so but it will be much harder. Would that be fun? A gripe about new return story content Some player have 70 characters and multiple accounts. Whilst it is fun to do story, a few times it is a joke to ask for more than 5 or 9 times or even on every race. So why not make the return to maps team events after all the story is instanced so if a team opens an instance it takes less resources to do so than if each player opens one separately. Also, it would make team events more fun which after all why we are all here to have some fun. Team events I mean that all in the team get the achievement if they are returning to events.
  3. I had same experience but with names different and colors all mixed up yet guards would either fight or not and if they fought i could also loot the supps. the names sometimes was not even the servers or restructuring in my list.
  4. Why not go one step further merge the smaller servers in to the larger one ? oh wait might miss a gem sale
  5. Fair enough but really a beta on top of the core game should have left the core game functioning instead of messing it up so you could not see what is captured on your own maps
  6. For me, the alliance or restructuring is a pointless thing to discuss here as we really do not have any idea what ANET is trying to do. Yes, we know they are trying to make it better in a way for the majority I am all for that but, to deliver poorly organised and basic errors in the core game whilst attempting to restructure is completely out of order. in other posts i have indicated the lack of attention and the outcome of this. Why not get lots of views together from all sides and then make a multiple choice poll for the majority to vote on. Is should not matter if you are a large guild or a solo roamer you should still get the same enjoyment from playing and after all if you are roaming you are active in the game. So, let us see better systems for all types of player that play the game in ways they enjoy. We all die in game we all fight in game but I think the real issues are more to do with the classes abilities to stealth and hide or bunker builds yes we can all have them but what is the point to just fight until a mob comes along. and the 1 on 20 and the one is still no damage is a joke. Basically so much is wrong with the core game. it puts more people off than just restructuring.
  7. The beta for restructuring or was that alliance as the poll, is saying one thing or is it? Poorly thought out, managed , delivered! It does not matter what size of development team you have. If it is not enough stop before doing a worse job. Issues like the following should not be on a release of even a beta: 1) Signing up to an alliance in your guild then have it show up as you are in the same area only to be able to log in and it show s you are in random servers with none of your guilds when they are mostly together. 2) When days later you finally after getting pushed too many servers with guilds that did not want to communicate with others in English. Proved the problems! 3) Maps that show a completely different server from any of the 3 in play, having taken camps towers or keeps. Or Maps that could not workout which colour the team that took it or the world or side it was meant to be on was just one thing a disgrace. also time delay in the updating of the change in ownership was a joke at 5-14 mins in some instances. I mean if you are blue the captured item should be blue! if your server is Piken or Stonefall or Reapers Door it should be that name under the captured item if you have taken it. These points are raised as these are mainly core WVW and really did not need to be modified that much. I only play GW 1 & 2 and have done so for a long time as it was always a company with it eye on the ball. So, what changed yes we know we are in a situation at the moment but most of us still have to work and get on with things. You really need to focus more on delivering us a more complete or at least if beta fixed in the basic game play of the game. As the lack of attention to the basics has left a sour taste for the second time, in so many from the in game messages and the forum response. From my view the way you have tried to implement restructuring is a fail and if this was meant to be alliance beta it was a total fail. Leave guilds to be together the way they are, may be put 20 average guilds of 10 player on the same server. may be even create a wait time for groups or even better a damage modifier to smaller guilds on servers. and the alliances just allow them to allocate points to a league for guild size. Also for roamers give them a league to work towards something constructive. Or are we going to be forced to be in alliances like you seem to have planed or we will all just go in a group as solos and try to get around any setting you give us or force us to use. if you are going to do an alliance thing do something like factions that your guild lends a shoulder towards. Luxon or Kurzick. Do not try to reinvent the wheel! Remember the Title of the GAME -- GUILD WARS

I was and am a piken server guild, but the langauge part is more in the beta event players that are on german or french or spanish server or guilds that are mixed in to every one but only speak their langauge and when you translate their chat it is them saying they do not know why. Also, with them mix server that random allocate you to a not assigned server where there in no hardly anyone speak a language I could understand and had to translate. So there are and have been issues

May be that is the real issue all the mechanics! well they could do away with cosmetic crap like novelties in the UI and all the rest of the rubbish and or at least give us option to turn things we never use off. It is more about give us things that are useful for ppl to use but the mandatory systems are the issues with the basic design of the game. Yes you are correct about the down state part but may be i did not explain my point clearly! The like of discord and many other have real security issue and privacy concerns. so this why i would prefer them to have the commander only using voice and then the option to have it on or off at your choice. The part about team chat is the same issues we have had with playiers from differnt worlds listen and telling other guildies of theirs what is going on. But if there was a better way for comms to explain the plan might be more fun. The builds part you are taking the words to literally, i mean builds that can not be stopped even by teams of up to ten. Or should we all go get these builds and no one ever win or lose, if so the next upgrade might as well be auto player and just spend time at the gem store. But i respect your views and feel that we see things a little differently but that is what makes the game fun.
  10. May be then we take it one step further and say, you have a set profession skills for wvw and 1 set of armor, weapons, trinkets. After all it is about playing not just being walked over as the game seems to be now.
  11. What the WVW restructure seems to be to me! First, I want to say that I am not a WVW fanatic but enjoy playing and want to play more! Most of all I want to have fun in game! So, far as I have seen from the messages and experience I have had in the WVW and the attempts of restructure it has all been bad for many. Lets start, seems to me they have said, well we have to do all we can for the giant WVW guides! Now there is nothing wrong with the large and giant WVW guilds or what they need. The balanced restructuring seems to be aimed at large & giant guilds all get in to a world with the three borders lands. Then, we can throw together some random group to fill. So they have something to kill and feel great about. Yes, guilds of 150+ of active WVW players all on at the same time is a joke, not balanced restructuring. This restructure can only be described as a joke as 4 or 5, 50+ player guilds on one side against 10 or 15, 5-10 player guilds is a not a balanced match only in total numbers. The 4 or 5 can dominate all by shear numbers. Now I am not saying they should not be able to be in the game and should not have a better way to play for them either. It should be on a tiered system large guilds against large guilds & small against small. and do not forget about language. Yes, creating a tiered system of guilds a formalised structure. First part to the guild tier would be to select the language set for the WVW guild, this seems to not be even considered by ANET currently. This would help with players being on the same side as others that speak the same language. If your guild has 150 member, but only 10 are in WVW on average daily then you are in that tier level. This could be selected weekly on reset. Then you are only matched against the same tier guilds. Do, away with alliance rubbish, and create a tiered faction system that your guild and server has chosen by majority vote. Then you fight with your guild on a server you are on and the faction points determines the battle for your tier level. Faction points can then give rewards or extra pips or track level. At least this way we fight against foe of the same size we all have the same chance. Yes the server has a tier system but really that is totally pointless, As server do less or more depending if they want to get an easier fight or not. To summarize, A weekly active WVW player number of a guild that is weekly updated then allocated to a tier. Fighting against like sized guilds with a faction based system giving points towards a chosen faction for the guild and server. There would be 3 factions an each server and guild has the choose by majority in a vote and each six month vote on factions this would lead to proper leader boards not just for server but for Factions, Server and then Tiered Guilds. So come on give some feed back and respond with thoughts may be we can get ANET to rethink the restructure before it is too late. Note: 1) If there is going to be a no downed state, please set it to immediately way point automatically no waiting or not able to wait. 2) May be do away with all this invulnerable builds. 3) Commanders in squad should be able to give audio commands in chat. So, that players can have this option in any squad. This would also limit the amount of resources it would require and allow all to hear the commands with out using the likes of teamspeak, discord or whatsapp or any other app. 4) a way for the commander on a map to interact with other to organise and structure forces.

  13. Like many here problems are part of the norm it seems! Ok, where do we start to give feedback! First another poorly design information to restructuring is rolled out. Then an even more poorly design of implementation of the role out. Guild selected for the assignment weeks in advance by most in guilds for the WVW! Most had the right assignment but not the same 3 colored worlds to go in to. If i go to my guild hall and look at the WVW panel i have different option again wow this is really screwed up! Selected the one for the option best suited. Ques that started at 29 then waited over an hour down to 5 and then back to 29 this happened 4 times. Then finally in fun begins, in squad great wait no on to be seen on any land. They are nearly all on different lands. So join a squad that is on the land i am on and this is where the issues really start. Do you understand that many people do not speak English and are from different countries. You have made cross language barriers that are a joke. No the real issues, The larger guilds that have 50+ constantly in WVW are just over running all in the area. We had a team today of about 10 on our area and where swamped with teams of 50-150+ of the other two, hitting us from front sides and back. Now we fully understand it is difficult thing to try to sort out but seriously this is the worst way of achieving it. The balance is totally out of order and not a possible match. Why not go to a faction system that the guild aligns to and then you can play as you wish with who you wish. Or is this just an american idea of no one else plays the game? I mean it seems you play the game but have a more insightful understanding of what you think is best as do many others think it is best there way! But what you have created here is a totally despondent player base that from the content of the chat messages has left most in a disheartened attitude to the game. Most of the issues with the game was that people from different regions or areas where on at different times and all would come on and take the map then move to the next map and then the others do the same 3 or 4 times a day with random extra taking what they could. Yes it was an issue but you made it that way not the people and now you have made it to a complete joke where only the large guides are having any chance of wining or surviving. No one has time to build siege when you are against these giant guilds or groups, so either do away with completely or make it automatic when outnumbered. Try to come and join a small guide and play with them for a week or so to see the way it plays or is forced to. This is the start of the end for many WVW players if you implement this type of rubbish, strong words but someone has to speak up from all size of guides not just the giants that get all they want the way they want. Do not get me wrong, GW2 is the only game I play and WVW is a part of my game play but I am so feed up with only seeing giant guilds outnumbering and wiping all the others, and every restructure has been appalling. If you had made it in to a faction system where your guild says we support this faction then a point system may have been a better way. You need to rethink this restructure and to be honest do the same as last time stop it early because most are not able or willing to play in a poorly and ill conceived play style that you have shown is your response it is not good for the majority of players. Most feel lost and despondent. A player that cares!

Over the past year i have repeatedly had issue in game when using the mouse to hit the mount button and instead hit the novelty button, either give us a way to remove it or hide it. as this is preventing me from achieving the goal in game! Also, if not can you remove all items from my novelty section and leave it completely empty as i am totally feed up now with this lack of realization that it is a problem for some player. Why not move it to another location or be able to set a on or off button. So that is does not act unless it is opened. I have been a loyal customer of anet since gw1. I can only say this may not be an issue for you, but for me and others it is! Please if nothing else can you delete all novelties from my account as i am either stuck with a novelty or miss a mount activation and end up dying due to the time it takes to get out of the novelty then mount or move. ****
