  1. Lol!! Let's keep it going 🙂 Whining about people that whine about other people complaining is not better either. And let the thread degradation commence! You made some good points, but you lost me on the snark. Didn't really seem to help or further the conversation.
  2. I'm sorry! I don't see why people are upset about playing the game. People don't pay money for GW2 and its expansions to log-in once a day to open a chest. Unless...they do? Which I guess seems to be more likely than I would have imagined. For me, these rewards are great, they're easy, and I'm looking forward to getting all that loot! I went and killed 100 Awakened the other day in Kourna. Was super fast, easy, and kind of fun going back to a meta I haven't done in years (not my favorite meta, but still). Why wouldn't you? Its SUPER easy to "get all that acclaim". And even if you don't get all of it, you can still easily accrue a bunch of it, and still get a whole bunch of Mystic Clovers or Laurels. No, you can't just log-in anymore and log off and get rewarded for it. I don't consider that style of game-play rewarding though; not my cup of tea. I get to play maybe 2-3 times per week, and that's ok with me. When I play, I'm getting better rewards. It usually takes me about 4-5 months to get my next loyalty chest. This is awesome for me! I just think we can look at this and see some not only good, but great aspects, and not gripe or nitpick those little things like not having ascended mats or having a few less activities to chose from. This is good. And it'll likely even get better with some different rewards next cycle! Who's to say they won't have ascended mats in the next cycle? And the way things are setup, you would likely get more than 2-4 pieces of mats per month.
  3. Hi! SO much whining going on! But the Wizard's Vault rewards are actually not that bad! (I wish I could make a table...). These two separate lists compare the rewards that were previously available with how much of the same reward you can get now. Previous log-in rewards (per 28days): Gold: ZERO (well, 2 gold for actually completing the daily rewards, not just logging in, so that is 56g in 28 days if doing the dailies). Permanent 2% gold increase: 1 Laurels: 35 (with option of 20 more, but only if you select it from Loyalty Chest) Mystic Coins: 20 Obsidian Shard: 8 (only if you select it from Loyalty Chest) Mystic Clovers: 7 (only if you select it from Loyalty Chest) Vision Crystal: 1, if you select it Ascended Crafting Mats: a quaint few, if you select it Luck: 2000 Tomes of Knowledge: 10 (with option of getting 6 more, but only if you select it from Loyalty Chest) Celebration Boosters: 1 Transmutation Charges: 3 Crafting Materials: varies -- up to 15 from each tier Exotic Equipment: 1 random piece Chest of Black Lion Goods: 4. Or in other words. meh... So, you can multiply those values by 2.5 and you get approximately how many rewards you would theoretically get in 2.5 months (~77 days) on the old system. Now, the NEW system! you ready for this? It's not that bad! New log-in rewards (what is it, about every 77 days?) Astral Acclaim: 14825 (a crap ton to buy more rewards with!) Gold: 77 just from the daily chest. An additional 90 available via acclaim (for cheap) with "unlimited" more gold available (at higher price). Permanent 1% gold increase: 2 available for total of 2% gold increase (ok, this one is not as good, BUT you can get a whole bunch of actual gold) Laurels: 110 from weekly chest . An additional 150 are available via acclaim. Mystic Coins: 60 via acclaim. Obsidian Shards: 20 via acclaim. Mystic Clovers: 20 via acclaim. Vision Crystals: 4 via acclaim. Ascended Crafting Mats: none. But you can actually buy ascended gear instead! Luck: 3850 from daily chest. 2000 more luck available via acclaim. Tomes of Knowledge: 11 from weekly chest. 35 more available via acclaim. Celebration Boosters: 11 from weekly chest. Transmutation Charges: 30 via acclaim. Crafting Materials: 30 heavy bags via acclaim. That is 90 T6 mats. "unlimited" large bags (10-20 T5 mats per bag). Exotic Equipment: none. shewt. but oh wait! Ascended equipment instead! Chest of Black Lion Goods: none, but that's probably ok. you CAN still buy the items you would otherwise get, such as revive orbs, upgrade extractors, etc. But you probably have plenty now. If you get all the daily and weekly chests, AND purchase all the extra gold, laurels, mystic coins, mystic clovers, luck, vision crystals, etc with your astral acclaim, you will still have 6445 astral acclaim left over to pick from many other rewards, including mount skins, armor and weapon skins, mastery track progress, emotes, build template and build storage expansions, and legendary starter kits. Guys... this new system is FINE. We're going to be ok. Sure, there are less activities to do for your dailies. But look at it this way--you get more rewards for doing less!
  4. in my testing it seems that the bug occurs only when I try to move the tablet down any grade of slope. if i move up any slope, the bug never occurs; whereas down any slope it always occurs. if i recast Ventari's Will while the tablet is dropping indefinitely downward, it comes back up. seems to be some kind of negative z axis movement calculation bug.
  5. yep! same here! showed up to report this issue; glad to find out it isn't just me! submitted about 5 of those crash reports.
  6. Well, we're already at Tower of Nightmares, and there's only 1 left--Battle for Lion's Arch I'm assuming. I missed out on the release of this "Strike mission" last year, and no matter how many times I go to join, the most I've ever seen in the instance if 5 people (even after reset). So, I am very disappointed this wasn't added to the Season 1 storyline. Please? Can you guys work it into Season 1? Thank you!
  7. I was not able to participate a lot in that episode due to school and work. I do not recall if I completed that achievement. But if I HAD completed the achievement, why do the ones in Diessa show up, but not the ones in Wayfarer? What's the name of the achievement so I can look for it? (wasn't doing this for achievement, since I didn't see one in my ach panel, was doing it for the story/lore). Oh. Secret Contact. Yeah, I do have that completed. I never even saw an optional tag to go to wayfarer and look for those drops. That never showed up during my story.
  8. So, I'm on my 2nd time playing through the newly released Flame and Frost story. On my first playthrough, the Encoded Dead Drops in Wayfarer Foothills never spawned. I hoped I did something wrong or missed a step or something. So, I'm playing it again. I just finished the Alliance Investigation step and received the email from Agent Brandubh called "Update on the Investigation" which lists the locations of the Encoded Dead Drops in Wayfarer Foothills. I have visited these locations, and there are no Dead Drops. I asked in map chat, and it seems that some people are able to see them, and some of us are not. Clearly a bug.
  9. This has been super frustrating for me. I'm glad I finally found this indication that i'm NOT crazy, and that these are bugged. Out of all the patches since release, there's been no indication that this is being addressed. Do we know if anet is aware of this issue?
  10. As I was reading the "Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons Strike Missions, Balance, and Rewards" article, I was pleased to read the line: "Bring the player, not the profession". Then the article started to talk about how some professions boons have a target cap of 10, differentiating that from other classes that have a target cap of 5. "Oh good!" I thought to myself. "They're going to increase the target cap of skills to 10! This will certainly allow for a wider mix of players in end game content. If groups can bring 1 of each role, instead of 2, that opens things up for more players with different classes/professions/roles!" Wait...what!? You are REDUCING boon caps from 10 to 5? But that makes no sense. So now we really have to double up on each role. Doesn't that double down on the bringing the profession aspect, rather than bringing the player? I was just not expecting this i guess.
  11. Wait. Wait. Wait. So you think that equipping a trait should do nothing? Because that's what it is doing currently. I wonder if you may have misread Phoenix Protocol, because you actually don't get any healing from the procs when Phoenix Protocol is traited (you get regen and alacrity, but you no longer receive healing). THAT'S the trade off right there. So, when I equip a trait that says "improves the passive effect of virtue F2", it better do that. No trade off. The trait is there, it better work. I mean, wouldn't you expect a sigil to proc no matter what skills or traits you bring? of course you do! no matter how much power, ferocity, or condition damage your character has, no matter if your skills already apply poison, bleeding, weakness, daze, the sigil better proc! It's the exact same with a trait. I equip a trait, it should function. I feel like you misunderstood me here. The maximum range is what it is. I don't really know or care what the maximum range is. But the distance from an enemy at which I can hit that enemy with sword skill 5 should be represented with the red underline. I shouldn't have to guess if I'm close enough or not. Sword skill 2 also has a shadowstep. They don't call it shadowstep (skill says teleport to target) but it still procs with Vanguard Tactics. And when I fire off sword skill 2, I know I'll hit because the red underline is gone; no guessing involved.
  12. Well, I suppose this is probably just my opinion, but if a player slots a trait, it should actually do something. It shouldn't be akin to selecting "nothing" as a trait. So, slotting Absolute Resolve with Phoenix Protocol SHOULD do something. Absolute resolve says it improves the "Passive effect" of Virtue F2. But if I slot Phoenix Protocol, it doesn't. So the Absolute Resolve trait does nothing when I also trait Phoenix Protocol.
  13. Absolute Resolve doesn't seem to improve F2 "passives" with Phoenix Protocol (no boost to regen and alacrity offered by Phoenix Protocol). The red line under sword skill 5 (indicating distance from target) is inaccurate. I am hitting targets with the dash and shadowstep even if the red line says i'm too far away. There is no "lunge" with Whirling Light.
  14. I'm still trying to figure this one out. I see potential here, but I have to agree that the Willbender Flames mechanic is much too weak, and pointless as is. I like the idea of having the Willbender Flames surround the player, doing damage/burning to foes nearby, in keeping with the mobility and "Imma gitchu" theme. I also agree there needs to be a bit more cc, and there REALLY ought to be access to cripple. As I play with Willbender, I feel like Flash Combo could be utilized here. I shadowstep to a foe, and they get crippled with the attack. Then with Repose, I don't like the teleporting away from the fight. I'm in there to strike the foe down! What if Repose teleported you to a nearby foe to unleash the same fury as Flash Combo, and crippled them as well? Or gave you access to an AoE cripple? And then BAM Whirling Light! or Executioner's Calling! Speaking of Whirling Light... where is that "lunge" that the skill says should happen? But in addition to what has been said, I actually want to point out 2 nit-picky things that have really been bothering me: How the heck does Absolute Resolve work with Phoenix Protocol? The tooltips show no boost to Flowing Resolve's regen or alacrity when Phoenix Protocol is traited with Absolute Resolve. And then the sword 5 skill: I dash forward, and then shadowstep. I like the mechanic, but the red line under the skill that indicates when you're within range should be accurate! I am hitting targets even when the red line says i'm too far away. That is all.
  15. So, how is Absolute Resolve supposed to work with Flowing Resolve? Absolute Resolve improves the passive effect of the F2 virtue. But from what I can tell, there is no passive effect with Willbender. Rather, it seems that once you activate a virtue, you get a "Virtue effect" that gives your attacks a bonus. But even this doesn't seem to be improved with Absolute Resolve. I dunno. Am I missing something? Edit: The title and my question really should read: "How is Absolute Resolve supposed to boost Flowing Resolve when Phoenix Protocol is also traited?"
