  1. Crev dies to cmirage though, even when it was broken
  2. If player A does 10 times the damage of player B (and if both are dps), player B is either training or leeching (in both cases, B is not contributing enough). Obviously I assume player B has no special role. A hardcore player does 10 times more dps than an "average" player, the keyword here is "average". The quote in the article I linked explicitly says "average player". Not "new player". Leeching in OW is more than fine, who cares about doing any relevant amount of dps on chak gerent or on triple trouble wurms? There will always be 4-5 people who kill 90% of the boss for the remaining players anyway. I myself usually just autoattack while watching something on my phone. Leeching on fractals/raids is not fine since you have a limited amount of players.
  3. How would you know this without a dps meter? I am mostly asking because it isn't true. He's just talking randomly without any backup. Reminder: “The challenge is that the skill disparity between average players and hardcore players is extreme. We’re talking about ten times damage output. You can’t necessarily put a DPS check that the average player is going to be able to overcome without making the fight entirely trivialized for the hardcore. But we have some tricks up our sleeve that we’re going to be trying.” https://www.pcgamesn.com/guild-wars-2/difficulty
  4. Choose one:1) Do you want to get kicked for low dps (build is irrelevant as long as you do enough dps)2) Do you want to get kicked for playing unoptimal class or having low AP
  5. Arcdps is not only a dps meter. It shows healing, boon duration, boons ripped/corrupted etc. This helps a lot to determine how good a theorycrafted build is. If you are some kind of dps build and if you are doing open world, yes. For fractals/raids, no. I think it's possible to do around 15k without buffs (might, fury, ranger spirits, warrior banners etc) if you go a meta raid dps builds. I also know full dire stats fire weaver does 15k without buffs in open world. If you want to increase your dps (why would you want to increase it, I don't know) try practicing/theorycrafting on the golem in lions arch aerodrome.
  6. Just take 1-2 chronos alongside your scourges and spellbreakers. IIRC chrono can rip more boons than scourge rn.
  7. Wait, wouldn't that be overpowered? Expertise and concentration scales extremely good compared to rest of the stats. Maybe it would be better like this: if a celestial piece gives 50 power 50 precision etc, it would give 25 expertise and 25 concentration in addition. Not 50 each but 50 in total.
  8. Imagine actually playing the game instead of grinding for the gear. Jokes aside, GW2 is like a meta game. Your in-game character doesn't improve after a certain point, but you (the player) improves skill-wise. This is most easily seen in sPvP and it still has a very big value in WvW and PvE.
  9. Pre february patch there were 5-6 S tier builds and a few A tier builds.Post february patch there are 3-4 S tier builds and a lot of A tier builds. I'd say the latter is the better one.
  10. 50% reduction in critical hit dmg and -10% outgoing condition damage (at most) seems reasonable imo.
  11. Did the pvp community finally break
  12. I can also confirm it uses around 3-4GB. If you use dx912pxy addon you get around 6-7GB ram usage.
  13. Sure, apparently it was just 5 accounts. The guy who did it is called Tallbarr if I recall correctly. I think it was the season before the last 2v2s, but not 100% sure.
  14. You know, MMORPGs are usually like a 2nd job in a sense. Just take a look at Eve Online. It's basically a spreadsheet simulator. For GW2, most guilds that do their own events (pve training guilds, pvp guilds, wvw guilds etc) all use some kind of application form to make it easier to organize an event.I know of guilds (mine included) that made custom software to aid them with stuff like that. Some guilds literally ask for a "in game CV" before accepting you to the guild. That's just how we have fun.
  15. There was a guy who made 8 accounts legendary rank with trapper burn DH, lol
  16. There is no "base damage", a skill has its own coefficient which contribures to the calculation like this: Resulting damage: "coefficient × weapon strength × power × damage modifiers / armor" Let's calculate Rift Slash:Coefficient: 0.745Power: 1200 (from amulet) + 1000 (base) + 150 (from 5 might)Weapon strength: 922.5 (sword)Armor: 2029 (medium armor)Crit modifier: 2.2 (220%)10 vuln: 15% dmg increase (because of a trait)Exploitation sigil: 5% dmg increaseSwift termination: 20% dmg increaseDestructive impulses: 10% dmg increaseFerocious aggression: 7% dmg increaseReinforced Potency with 4 boons: 4% dmg increase Plugging all in the formula, we get 3106 dmg, that's for pvp/wvw numbers so no food etc. If the target had more might and boons, you were light armor, you had more vuln etc etc I can see this being around 4k. You say 2.5k which means maybe you were above 50% hp etc.
  17. By the way, someone said you can change where you are casting the glyph without interrupting it, using "instant" targeting. Apparently it casts on your mouse's current location. I haven't tested it yet though. That bug wasn't there before apparently, and all competitive ele mains I know ask for it to be fixed.
