  1. Yes. All venom's will apply using your stats for the damage tic, and credits you with the damage/heal/CC's.
  2. Try Rune of the Aristocracy, That 6th tier bonus is awesome with Scepter 2 on a full Ritualist set with Boon Dur Sigil. 2 taps for 10 might at 20 seconds and 10 might at 8 seconds to give you a nice pump to not just the torment, but an awesome pump to bleed and poison as well, for a 6 initiative investment. If you also apply your siphon to them, you will be at a 25 stack while running Deadly arts.
  3. I know it's already been dismissed as nonviable, but I've been having a lot of luck and fun playing condi/tank/support using a mix of plaguedoctors/apothecary, with scepter/pistol. Let's me apply conditions to a large group, while also handing out regular 2.5k heals and barrier. Running it with the heal well, condie well, and elite well, scorpion wire, and thousand needles, we've been doing well two-manning a lot of fractals. Not a great as a full on damage spec, but it lets me keep other players in the fight, while not giving up too much myself. Now if only they could find a way to get players to stop running out of my healing wells. 😭MMy advice is to forget about stealth entirely. Utilize the surplus of shadowstep's to do the same thing.
  4. Really wish we could get Peripheral Vision back. Made the Condi Deadeye very viable.
  5. That was such a nothing reveal. Condie and Barrier? Thats all you can tell us?
  6. I get it, so like a Function kit, same as Holosmith. Ok.. they didnt show us the Utilities though, would have been nice.
  7. I dont think its a new burst, guys. They kept it out through all their attacks. That's a Kit.
  8. If anything, Seeing the power of the preview has me hopeful for the power they'll end up giving the Thief. Lets just hope they dont kill the fringe builds for it like they did with Rifle. Still upset about the AOE Condie being nuked by the rework.
  9. I'm curious what you are basing this assumption on, is there a balance patch preview that I missed? Or was there something said in the livestream?
  10. There are no trash classes, just trash plays and strats. If Thief doesnt do it for you, move on. If you insist on playing thief, I suggest you scrap your build and come up with a new one.
  11. I could deal with a Sword Offhand, if it meant the return of the combo system. Downplay the Initiative system for it, and allow us to do the old chains again. I'd go for it in a heartbeat.
  12. Buddy and I are usually very good at piecing together someone's build from watching them fight, and if we did that, it should be pretty easy to find the weak point in the build. Is there any way you could record it next time you come across this build? Also, if you do record it, please turn on your attack feed, the one that tells what they hit you with for what amount. That's basically the key to ID'ing someone's build.
  13. That's a blast from the past, I had an extremely similar build back when Theif still had traps. Timing it all correctly, and using the trap Thief summon, I could just manage to get 6 summons up and going. Very fun build that let me overwhelm people in WvW. Had an absolute blast with it.
  14. http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PawAUhjlNwYYHsN2JO2StNPA-zxQYrIG4RBfhUQIkZG0RBY+BJIyA-eSo I came up with this guy while Sparring a Guildmate in our GH. We dubbed it the Farting Thief. Basically he plays keep-away while stacking poisons, daze, and Pulmonary impacts with the bows Choking Gas.I enjoy it, but definitly not that useful in anything outside of 1v1's in the Guild Hall.
  15. Been here since the beginning and you can only play the same content for so long before it's just not fun anymore. To get around that, I like to make gimmick builds, builds that are not all that particularly powerful but do something different with the play that makes it fun for a while. Just something to help stave off the boredom.Recently I threw this one together on my lunch break. it's ok, basically uses the Runes to stack Might instead of traditional means.http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PaEBgipjlRwcYHMKWJO2WVNLA-zRRYmBzG9sCJlCIiMojQw9DiQ0IZA-e How about you guys, what are some of your favorite gimmick builds to roll through some content with?
  16. I feel like you need to revisit the Rifle Coefficient on the Thief. I had a huge breakdown of the damage numbers and all the bonuses available to us, but lets just say your nerfing it twice. Once in the coefficient, and once in the "our rotation only gives us 13 might with these changes", while also requiring us to be immobile and expend all or our power in that one hit. Either it needs a mechanic tweak, killing the pre-cast beam would be fair, or it needs to be raised higher that 1.11.We're looking at a 2.5K hit before bonuses and crit now. That's just not going to cut it for the time investment that attack requires.
  17. I know how you feel. After Deadeye came out, I made an awesome little Rifle build designed to rapidly spam loads of aoe conditions and Buff's on mobs and groups of players, and it was honestly one of the funnest things about the expansions for me. But then after four or five months, they "reworked" the traits for it, and my sole remaining joy in playing thief was gone. I couldnt spam buff's to rival Chrono, And I couldnt dump conditions to rival the Scourge. Instead, I got.. Hell, I dont even remember what I got. Pretty sure I stopped playing shortly after that. Staff here have fallen in to the trap of never letting a spec really shine in more than one spot, and they wanted my deadeye gone so they could make room for the power pew pew.
  18. The attack costs 5 Init, and lasts for 2 seconds. With a coefficient of 2.4, Ascended weapons, and Vs a Med class, on 3 consecutive Crit's, under the effects of a full zerk loadout(including food and infusions), it can hit 8157 damage over the 3 hits. With available damage increases, expect an extra 1K(I couldnt be bothered to calculate this part).A thief can stun them for 1.95 seconds with Basalisk venom, enough time to get all 3 strikes in if they do not use a stun break of any kind. Unlikely given most classes have an automatic stunbreak that a lot of players run, but there are still noobs out there.A second full strike can be gained by using Devourer Venom, Immobilizing them for 1 second on the first strike, and again at the .6 second mark, giving them the 2 seconds, again, given that they don't use a cleans to remove it and get out of the way.So the damage would be between 16K and 19K give or take, if the enemy was unprepared and running full dps. Enough to gank a noob who doesnt know better. Combined with the Harpoons evades, and several other skills, Yeah, It can face roll the stupid pretty well under water, just dont count on it to help vs a player that knows their stuff.
  19. Collateral is a dead trait. Its someone a few players will try out and gimmick builds will use from time to time, but it will always be a poor choice for most players. A simple "Triggers on Stealth attack" change would make it a better, though still weak, option.
  20. So they took away a Condition trait from one of the few hard condition hitting weapons thief had? What the hell ANet, I'd really like to hear an explanation on this. Though fat chance of that happening. the cucks have been silent for 7 damn years. Meanwhile all the other studios putting out anything worth playing have switched to a more open development, giving us roadmaps and talking to their communities..
  21. First, You are not killing a keep lord from stealth without ever becoming revealed on any build without some form of exploit, period, full stop. Second, any advantage it offers us in WvW in the terms of ambush from stealth is typically countered by the fact that we have very little sustain, unless your trash, running around on a full dps build like a dumb ass, your not getting burst from stealth easily. Stealth is the Thief's hide. It's a survival option on a class that feels squishier than most other classes. We're nothing like those Mesmer's with a one shot build. Long story short: Get good.
  22. Collateral Damage: Effect Triggers on any Sneak Attacks as well. Radius Increased to 360. Damage increased to 800.Small adjustment that I feel would fix a dead trait. Like.. I have never seen ANYONE use that trait.. It sucks as is.
  23. Yes, but you have to buy a monthly pass on the Gemstore. It costs 4000 gems per character that you want to make. If your sub lapses, you dont lose the character, but you cant play it until you resub. (Obviously a Jk)
