  1. I mean, you already have legendary armor for raids, WvW, and PvP. I'm not sure why also adding another PvE way to achieve them would take away from that. If you already got your legendary armor from one of those methods, unless you are a devoted skin hunter in which case you would be doing everything regardless, then you wouldn't need to fuss over doing it again. Also keep in mind that most of the player population is mostly (if not only) playing open world PvE... it makes sense why most of the achievements would be locked behind it lol.
  2. I just struggle to understand why people are so against open-world armor. Are you scared people won't play raids? Aren't people already complaining about how it's dead content that no one plays? How does it affect you if there's yet another way to get legendary armor? And who said anything about it 'taking no effort'?? People aren't asking to get it for free, they're just asking for another method to achieve it, which would include appropriately tedious work just like legendary weapons. Like I really cannot get the mindset behind being against this lol. Do you somehow think that having a way to get legendary armor that you deem 'too easy' takes away from your own achievements? Because that is silly. Legendary weapons aren't hard to get, they just take time. I'm not sure why legendary armor should be any different (and PvP/WvW armor already qualifies as 'not hard, just long', so it's not like that's new). Like it or not, GW2 is a casual game. Getting angry at people for being casual/'bad' is just stupid. The vast majority of players probably fall under that category, it's the hardcore players that are the exception. And this is coming from someone who leans more towards 'hardcore' than 'casual'. That being said I don't agree with the method proposed in the OP, I think it should require a lot more than just grinding one aspect of the game 900 times. There's lots of different things you can do in casual PvE. At the very least it should require a series of collection achievements like some of the weapons. I also think adding dungeons wouldn't be too outside of the realm of 'casual friendly', since dungeons are very easy. And it would also breathe new life into them!
  3. A slight tangent - when did GoM qualify as its own server? Last time I played we were still the link-server.
  4. Yeah, that makes total sense. And tbh I have a lot of gold and it's not hard to get exotic cele gear, I'm just cheap and lazy lol. Thanks for the answer!
  5. I don't like kids and actively wish there was a separate internet just for adults so I don't have to interact with them, but I disagree with this lol. Like, just because the player base skews older doesn't mean everyone wants blood and guts and such (I am making an assumption that's what you mean by 'juicy', apologies if you mean something else). I have a lot of other games I can play if I want that kind of thing. I like that GW2 keeps the gore to a minimum, personally, and even as someone who swears like a sailor I don't think that would bring anything to the table, writing-wise. They're still able to sneak in plenty of innuendo as it is. Plus, in terms of practicality, this would just never happen this late into the game's development. I don't see why they would suddenly change the game's rating.
  6. Hi all, I created a new thief with the intention of leveling him up regularly to 79 (I just like leveling up characters, it's relaxing for me) and then using the boost for the celestial gear. Unfortunately, I forgot, whoopsies! So I was wondering if I would still get the celestial gear if I used the level 80 boost on him now? I know you get all the other stuff, but it isn't explicit about the armor/trinkets.
  7. I have never actually seen someone seriously claim that they don't want the feature because they want other people to be forced to see the cosmetics they paid $$$ for, only people claiming that those sorts of players are running rampant and that's why it would never happen lol. That being said, I am really struggling to come up with another reason why ANet has yet to implement an effect toggle feature after literally a decade of complaints about it. Surely the reason can't be that it would be too difficult to code?
  8. I am looking forward to my tenth year of running around in the labyrinth doing the same things over and over for 2 weeks! (Seriously though it would be so nice if they added something new and interesting to the festival, shook it up a bit... doubt that will happen though)
  9. You bought an expansion that didn't include the mounts and now you're mad you can't redeem the free mount gift. You wouldn't even be able to use it. This is nonsensical. lol They gave away a lot of other free stuff during the anniversary, too, stuff that anyone can use.
  10. You require PoF to even use the mounts you would be getting a skin for... you can't not own the content and then go 'I can't use this?! Garbage!' lol
  11. People really will complain about literally anything huh
  12. My concern is less the weapons (I like the three underwater weapons) and more that half your skills stop working. Underwater Mechanist is particularly egregious (maybe their terrible underwater combat is what made the devs overcompensate everything else about the class, ha ha). I'm leveling a thief right now and can't use many of the movement skills underwater. It's just really annoying. If we were to change the weapons, I would like if they brought the 3 standard underwater weapons onto land, too. If we had land spears, we could finally get a lancer/dragoon class, and that would be so cool. Though tridents and harpoons are pretty water specific, so maybe it wouldn't work so well with them lol. But I really hope underwater combat gets some love and attention, because honestly it has wonderful potential.
  13. I am really self-conscious and sensitive about my voice and so don't want even more reason for people to bother me about not joining voice comms. 😞
  14. I think you are missing a pretty important part of the equation here, which is that both FF14 and WoW have a monthly subscription. GW2 does not. FF14 and WoW can get away with waiving the price for old expansions because of it. You buy GW2 expansions because you do not have to pay $15+ a month (it is more for me as I am Canadian) forever to access the content. You really cannot compare these two business models because they are fundamentally different. I've been playing GW2 since 2012. $100 is an utter pittance lol. If it had a subscription I would have paid thousands of dollars for the game by now, so I'm personally okay with buying the expansions considering it's saved me a ton of money. Sucks that it's a larger cost upfront but I mean, I had to spend $60 to buy FF14 and then pay monthly sub on top of that.
