Tips for "Beginner Experience Collection"?

Recommended Posts

I returned to the game for Dragonbash and the free chapter returns, and when I started getting enhanced chests I just discarded the items when I saw they weren't good and didn't appear to be collectibles.

I have since learned the Beginner Experience Collection requires you to equip all of those items. Does anyone have advice on reacquiring those chests? Should I consider submitting a ticket?

Update: Using a fresh character in southern Celadon Forest has given me 2 of the relevant chests, at least. So it does not appear to be broken, so I have no need to ticket it. I would still appreciate any tips to killing large groups of enemies in a similarly low level area or if there is a merchant for the relevant items, if anyone has specific advice to that effect.

Notes[edit]

  • Characters above level 10 can acquire this item in low-level areas of starting zones in which their effective level is 10 or below.
  • The drop rate is significantly reduced if the item has already been acquired and the contents were never equipped.[1]

Plains of Ashford (Charr starting zone)

Defend the Ash Legion's Camp

One of the most brutal onslaughts in the starting zones. If just a few people gather at the tents when the escort returns, a hilarious amount of ascalonian ghosts keep spawning. You can camp in front of a tent or hop between them. If you happen to have a killstreak-booster active, you can get a lot of EXP extremely fast. But the hoards of ghosts come in such high numbers, you may call out when the event is about to start (map-chat). Even if outmaxed characters are participating, there is always a high chance the ghosts win the encounter anyway.

Break the morale of the attacking harpies and defend the mortars

Significantly less mobs than in the first event, but it occurs more frequently. The waypoint is a place, people often afk, so they will scale up the event automatically. It is a reliable event.

Break the morale of the harpies stealing the Durmand Priory's supplies

In my opinion the best event to max out the harpy slayer achievement and get kills done. The harpies scale up in numbers with more participating players. The amazing bonus with this event however: the harpies all move to the same spot. So you can just camp there and spam AoEs. Unfortunately, players are often quite motivated and engage into the waves earlier. So you should keep your 'allies' in mind, when you are there.

The Grawl event-chain at Martyr's Woods

Several events chained one after another, each with plenty of Grawl to spawn.
