draxynnic.3719
And I've been arguing for longer than this thread has been around that the professions that don't have that sort of utility should be expanded so that they do. Which is part of the reason why I think we should see what the new elite specialisations do before throwing the harsh nerfs around. Because it wouldn't look good to nerf FB to death now if some of the new elite specs are going to show similar capabilities. That and, again, your arguments are highly specific to fractals. Which suggests that it might be fractal mechanics that are the real problem.
Xaylin.1860
Unless they overtune Willbender damage it will likely not see much play vs. FB. And even if they did it would be worse for DH than for FB. In the end, apparently its strong suit is mobility which is strong in rather niche scenarios to begin with. At least when compared to raw damage. I agree that some classes/specs need to be brought up a bit. But certainly not to FB level. The upcomming launch of EoD is no reasonable justification to wait with FB balance, though. FB won't suddenly be balanced after EoD unless they power creeped every other eSpec. quaniesan.8497
Aegis is useless against small consecutive packages of attacks. Elem, mesmers, ranger for example are more likely to spread their damage over several packages., and god forbid, minions and pets and clones. Have you considered this scenario? People keep throwing the term overpower but What is overpower anyways, what is the metric on which you decide? In a typical team fight, let say you popping a few Aegis, and how many of it it will truly block a deadly spike and many of it will get cancelled out by a single trivial AoE tick? Aegis is powerful but only when skillful timing. And the reward is deserving for the user that times it right. Any half-decent player can throw a small attack to rid the aegis before engaging a guardian. There is a counterplay to this. If Aegis is that OP like you think, I would like your opinion on constant barrier and/or protection boon meta. Against 100 attacks of roughly equal power, 10 consecutive Aegis will only block 10% damage, but protection boon blocks 33%. Spamming barriers like certain classes i could name might be even worse.
