Silverwaste meta changes?

I've always been of the understanding that once you fight one of the last 3 bosses that you could not enter one of the other two.  Today, I fought beekeeper and then helped the other two lanes kill Mordrem so they could enter.....(non-organized map).  On the north boss, i decided to just give it a shot, and I was able to enter the fight and rez people.  If I'm remembering correctly, in the past, I would be physically tossed out for doing it.   Have the rules changed and I just wasn't paying attention?

The Wiki explains it best:

 

• If you have participated in one of the 3 boss fights, you will be given a Tracked buff which will teleport you out of the boss room if you enter from another lane. This means that the event is designed so that each player should only be able to participate in one boss fight.
  • Since the Tracked buff lasts only for 7 minutes 30 seconds, it is possible to enter via another lane if they lose multiple siege carriers and delay it long enough till the buff expires.

Yeah, the first boss you kill gives you a debuff that prevents you doing other bosses, but it's possible (especially on non-organized maps lol) for the meta to go on long enough that the debuff wears off and you can fight another boss.

I suspect that's intentional, if the map is going badly enough that the buff wears off the lane/s that haven't gone in yet probably need help.

 

Although you don't want everyone to abandon one lane of course, or that one will be swamped.

Remember that there are also failed attempts, so the lane that did boss once has to be able to make another pass if there was some failure on the line and it is their turn again.

thanks for the replies.  they all make perfect sense.  I had not realized that the defuff had a specific duration, though I should have since bosses roll over during failed attempts.  no mystery then, just not thinking it through.  there were only three or four people per lane where I was at.
