We need more Metal Legion.

3) As it is, Metal Legion is a pro Charr segregation propaganda band which is heavily entwined with the story of the icebrood saga. Not so sure if the message of "One charr! Let's drink the blood of our enemies! RAWR!!!" would fly in let's say divinity's reach. This is not a strong point and can be fixed by shoddy writing but still.

Hm, maybe we need a battle of the bands between Metal Legion and a rival propaganda band that supports Charr finding glory as a sort of awesomest of equals among the other races. Players could participate in events to either support the side they want to win or undermine the side they don't. Player participation decides which band triumphs.

It’s not so weird. They’ve got Celtic derived names, and Arthurian and Sidhe inspirations in their stories.

There’s plenty of room for variety of course. Punk would fit the nightmare court well, or maybe even more so the Soundless.

It's just that the hippy thing can't be dismissed like, "where do people get this crazy idea?" It's there enough to be one thread in their culture.

I have no problem with celtic. I have a problem with Enya-style celtic. I like Enya quite a lot but even if we go with sylvari > celtic in music, there's so much more than the dreamy-floaty stuff Enya does.

It's kinda similar to how elves are usually percieved in other settings. With all the high, noble, wise, mystical, dreamy music, blah blah... but far less people consider for example the Noldor (to stay in a world I'm familiar with).

As for hippy - no problem with that part, I actually see it as very fitting (now we see the REAL flower power after all 😄 ). Also goes well with the sylvari being curious and inquisitive and more than willing to try new things.

Charr band vs. Human band! Continuation of the war by musical means! May the best toot win!

Oh, absolutely. When I first wrote it, it was intended as a joke.

But there's enough new age and Celtic in Sylvari for it to make sense. And the Grove itself does have a dreamy-floaty quality for it to fit there.

I agree the post somewhere earlier that it'd be great to see the Sylvari experimenting with music all from all over Tyria, just like they experiment with foods, and research, and tech. I can imagine funny dialogue between a Sylvari trying to learn from a member of Metal Legion, to the infinite frustration of the Charr musician as the Sylvari incoporates Human strains of music into Charr metal. 😄

Please Anet add more Metal Legion instances in other parts of the world. I would personally love to see a Metal Legion concert in Lion's Arch during Halloween, maybe out in the corn field to the south east.

I can see the events reworked with Thorn's minions trying to crash the concert to give it a festive twist.

Definitely one of the most memorable events in the game.  Honestly, I can't stand the obsession with cat-people in video games, but GW2's Charr race has so much personality I can't help loving them.  Just listening to the NPC banter as you pass through Charr areas is great!
