Suggesting a Necromancer Elite. Minion control Overlord

Null Void ZXYQ.1307

Recommended Posts

Necromancer with a mechanic similar to the "Enemy of my enemy" quest with "mummy army skills" in Path of fire, and scourge sand shades.

F1 Spend life force to summon a mummy/shade/skelleton/minion. Also used to call minions back.

F2 Order a minion to attack a target. Hold to send more.

F3 Order a minion to go and hold position on marked point. Hold to send more. While on marked point, minions do ranged attacks, if ordered to do so.

F4 Order a minion to taunt an enemy. Can detonate minion.

F5 Shrouding rage. Empowers minions and necromancer similar to Rangers "Strength of the pack"

If not used for Necromancer, letting Ranger have more pets out at once could also become the Overlord.

Necromancer doesn't need a specialization specifically for minions.

Due to Death Magic having more than enough traits for minions, every specialization can be effective as a minion master.

Agreed. Plus I'd rather have Anet rework/touch up minions and its related traits rather than dedicating an espec to that playstyle. But I wouldn't hold your breath for any updates soon in that area seeing Anet's shift from large updates that shook up the meta and breathed new life into competitive gamemodes to tiny and sporadic updates that don't change much of anything. Plus, if Anet actually listened to the mass cries for certain skills to be updated, we wouldn't still be stuck with the current version of WH5.

Would the minions be colour-coded brown, red, green and blue based on function?

Honestly, though, it's not a terrible idea. The main problem with AI specs is, well, the lack of player control. Giving some real control over minions might go a long way to improving that playstyle.

Whether that would go to Necromancer, or to something like Ranger that already has a profession mechanic built around controlling an AI helper, though, is another question.

yeah Ranger with a sort of "swarm" pet with buildup similare to necros jagged horrors, would kinda be perfect. could be fun if its ability changed depending on its "number" of buildup.

I mostly just thought of the necro having it cause the awakened being a type of undead, and the scourge sand shades were SO close to being it.
