Cool parts about warrior?

I won't lie that my home turf has a name, and that name is necro.
That being said Bladesworn looks a bit tempting, but warrior was never that exciting for me.

Yet, much like myself with necro there are dedicated warrior mains who play it for years and stay loyal to it.
So if you want - sell me the Warrior. What makes you stick to him and not jump ship to just about anything else?
Where does it rock?

Welcome to the Warriors!

Bladesworn does indeed look very interesting, and I myself am curious to see how it fits with existing aspects of warrior.  I think there will be lots of cool new skills and dynamics introduced with the Gunsaber, to be sure, but I also worry that it is a massive departure from everything Warrior has been up to this point (I mean, it does away with adrenaline for pete's sake).  I very much hope it will be something new that flows (see what I did there?) naturally from what Warrior already has and takes it to new places.  But we shall see.

As for why I continue to play Warrior in its current form, despite it very much underperforming in the current competitive meta (I mostly play PvP), is it's high-impact, head-bashing play style.  Bulls Charge into Arcing slice (and watching it crit for 7-9k in PvP) never gets old.  It's literally my favorite part of the game.  Rocking people with Decapitate on Berserker or blasting a low-health enemy trying to flee with Throw Axe are also highlights.  Cue Queen's "We Will Rock You" and go have a ball.

I also like that it's clean, honest game-play.  There's no cheap crap.  No perma stealth.  No endless aegis.  No trapper rune abuse.  No double health bars (no offense, my dear, OP necro friend).  No cloud of minions (ok, offense intended this time--just a little tho 😛).  When dealing with Warrior, what you see is what you get.  If he beats you, its 'cause he outplayed you, not because of some gimmicky mechanic.

Warrior is definitely in need of some serious love in its current state.  I very much hope Anet will give it the attention it deserves in the post-EOD world.  We in the Warrior community are some of the most passionate (if somewhat jaded) GW2 players you will find, and we have filled these forums with (mostly) constructive ideas for improvement.  I hope Anet will listen, and I hope players like you will join our cause!

PvE Perspective:

Power berserker is a very spammy playstyle (if you like stuff like that).

Condi berserker is imo the most enjoyable build warrior has. Its outshined by almost every other class though since they are either easier to play or just deal more damage.

Used to play core in some occasions but berserker exists´so its pretty much inferior. The only difference is tactics over berserker so you got some minor buff options.

Cant say much about spellbreaker since I only use it for handkiting on Deimos. Apparently the only viable choice for competitive play.

And yeah.. banners. They are the only reason you see warriors at all in high end PvE 90% of the time. It feels like they are balanced around the fact that they can bring banners.

@ZeftheWicked.3076, as CalmTheStorm stated, its a straightforward and honest gameplay style. There is, nominally anyway, many weapon choices, which is fine for PvE, but for PvP/WvW you are more limited in what weapons are effective.

You'll have a LOT of CC and potentially LOTS of stunbreaks if you go Berserker. If you liked Reaper, you'll like playing around on warrior.

Warrior as it is now will be more of a challenge to be good at than Necro, so if you're looking for something that is more fulfilling to be good at, then it is a good class to try.

Axe/Axe is the best part of Warrior for me.

But everything else has either been left behind in 2012 or nerfed into the ground.

If you like Bladesworn, that means it's not Warrior what you like.

Bladesworn is just something fundamentally different bolted onto Warrior, just like Holosmith is basically something entirely different bolted onto Engineer. Arguably, the same can be stated about Virtuoso and Mesmer.

What I love about warrior is the weapon versatility. Axe/Axe is pure love and then using burst skills for that loud PANK! either berserker or core warrior for open world (berserker is super boring F1 spam like an idiot kinda of thing)

about Bladesworn... I don't know what class that is. Maybe engineers know more about whats cool about kits and grenades. It does have a weeb pose an all if you are into that.

Warrior are Master of War. So strategy, cunning and intelligence is on our side. Even people call  this class  dumb and very straight forward class. I call those who said that as newbies. The master are on another level.

I like to play rifles sometimes and see people getting mad by die for a rifle core war or loose a match to core rifle war.

I use  the banner for just one purpose and is not for PvE. I never saw that called BannerSlave build, I think that my War don't have this build and won't ever has this one, every time that i try to write 'bannerslave' on the chat my GW2 crashs. So this build don't work on my war.

For me is the adrenaline mechanic and how it interact with our actual specs. Berserker is very fun, crazy and have useful utilities that makes a difference. SB and the counter is very fun on bosses, the dagger is a cool set to use and because of that its the most fun class to play on pvp. I also love to be able to give support even when building offensive with might and banners, I feel useful in fractal and open world. The CC capability is very cool as well, its fun to 100-0 a breakbar everytime.

Its a class that all specs will stil be relevant even after bladesword, speacially berserker as a condi.
