Necro/Guard/Rev has been the comp since 3v3 was first released. Changing it would mean actually balancing around 3v3.

Or finally buffing damage dealing specs like ele

Tempest is kinda good drop an earth shield on one of the utilities and you get bonus support, Waver has trouble with the Dodge bot design to be buffed, but the bruiser builds have good output it is just ele is a pain to play (core does nothing special it is about time to get the reverse drawback for elites like rev to have something special going on for it). Generally ele suffers from wack nerfs that make it clunky and long kitten CDs.
Warrior is a bigger mess then ele and every attempt at making a build relevant ended in more nerfs , the Healbreaker might be viable for the 2v2 but with more damage output based amulet, healing power does kitten all from all the nerfs anyway.

Thief and Mesmer have to play in premades and have a build based around the comp.

Engi has to go on build craft spree for each encounter but Holo and Scrapper are fine.

Ranger can be disgusting in 2v2 it just needs to play the "proper" build.

Necro , guard and to some extent rev don't need anything to play 2v2 since they play it all the time just the difficulty setting is dropped from 4 to 2 opponents .

People default to the big 3 since there isn't much change of pace between 2v2 3v3 and conquest, you don't need to learn new builds , it is all the same.

There would have been more build variety if there was more options for the teamfight builds in conquest and more options for the sidenoders were they not devolved into bunkers .

People are not so keen on making their own builds and 2v2 and 3v3 adds a layer on top of that with building a build for a comp, there is almost no one to tell the lazy people how to play the deathmatch, no metabattle builds for it and not much youtube video tutorials on how to not suck in the mode.

People do not bother to try to counter necro even though they know they will be playing against it, and they don't even change skills or traits between rounds.

Yeah, more people really should try making their own builds. My friends and I make 100% of our builds ourselves and try to work out what trait/weapon synergies we should go for. That's half the fun of PvP.

It's especially noticable during beta events when most players are completely lost on how to build the beta specs and ask around for other people's builds. It's not that hard to work out what traits work well with what.

As for Warrior, I can't speak on it much. I've played less than 10 games on it, but fighting them they're arguably the most fair class to fight. Recognizable telegraphs, no stealthing or porting through walls or from off screen, no bursting you down with instant casts. Anet can afford to give it more love so it can compete with everything else.

not sure why everyone is having a problem. after first round you and your team mate should know who to drop first. necro kill him from far away  they drop fairly easily besides scourge. renegades how they heal his their biggest weakness . will you win every match no because the player using  the class might just be more skilled then you atm but there is always a away . i have yet to be in matches with these guys and lose all the time. you guys are talking like its an instant win when that's not even close to being true

Not everyone wants to play bunker necro.

It is never an instant win. The match is just so skewed toward bunker classes built toward attrition that it is difficult to pressure them, even when running glass.

Well of course cause 2v2 is sidenode skirmish and 3v3 is teamfight and since there is not objective like mid you can use the teamfighters for 2v2. Also the roasters for sidenodes and teamfights kinda got over nerfed as time passed since the balanced for conquest leaned way too much in favour of roaming specs, that is why you have so many +1 builds these days, but since 3v3 and 2v2 you can't outnumber those specs do kitten all vs something that doesn't change its job description of  just fighting, that is why there are so many necros and guards, the builds are already there .

And you can run glass but you have to get your sustain from the other person, half and half. Also the game mode lets you switch your build fully between rounds so you can run multiple different comps in one match for example you can go Mad with Full glass Berserker and Support tempest, next round you can change to Healbreaker and ele goes LR tempest or Weaver, next round Burn Weaver STR Spellbreaker or Condi Berserker.

For the Warrior part, it just doesn't feel Ok to play these days after so many nerfs, it can be played but in a manner that doesn't feel correct, it revolves around running away allot cause the sustain and condi management got over nerfed and currently there are more Ranger builds that play as better Warrior than any of the Warrior builds. It just doesn't have any control over games and the elite specs do not have that great of a niche currently, there are some professions like warrior that are pushed out, ele, mesmer but at least they have some builds that can be universally helpful and still have their foot in the door. Warrior these days feels like a liability to have in your team in conquest, in deathmatch it might be Ok since you can abuse some gimmicks to go really niche for each encounter but that applies to all Professions .
