it is sad to see that the actual "GUILD WARS" goes on wvw... and it hasnt got any type of content for the longest... will anet do somethig about? haha what a joke, they must go ack to that lame kitten dragon story that nobody gives a dam about it... kitten.

Ok, ignoring all thenegative tone in your post, there's a couple of things potentially wrong with your post:

  • The term "Guild Wars" has actually nothing to do with modern-day guilds fighting each other. It's based in lore, from the really old time when the major guilds were warring with each other.
  • If "nobody" cared for the dragon story, and WvW was the real bread winner, I'm absolutely sure that Anet would put their focus to it. Seeing as they don't, maybe the PvE story is what a lot of people actually cares for?

I'm pretty sure that the vast majority of players like PvE more than WvW.
PvE is way more fun to play, a lot of maps, a lot of things to collect, a lot of things to kill, etc.

Let ANet decide what they focus on.
They have data for what the players do when they play.

Ahh wvw is dead...that explains why there are queues on all the maps every evening

There's  no q at all maps every evening. This is BS. WvW is dead all day long, we get '' low action '' at prime time only for 2 hours (low iq fights) .

Which were these old time major guilds? can you provide names to exemplify?

I'll help.

https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/The_Guild_Wars

And by "really old time" the Guild Wars ended about 260 years ago from GW2's current time. The first game, though named Guild Wars, actually started when the Guild Wars ended.

Sure, after you take into account server links and only on reset & weekends...before that each server was on its own and we had twice as many tiers...definitely not dead, but not as alive as in the past.

Guild Wars 2 and consequently also WvW is suffering from a decline in the overall population due to a recent increase in the competition on the MMO-market. This decline in the population is hitting some servers more than others. Is WvW now dead? In essence, one can reduce the number of matchups and like this increase the number of server combinations. This way the population in each matchup would remain constant.

Well, it seems anyone not agreeing with OP is a casual and should go back to PvE. Funny way OP has to address the perceived WvW problem, asking people to get out of there...

Yeah, people like him in WvW increase the enjoyment factor by a lot... no

Not just casuals, but “kids”, too.

Which is kind of an odd assumption, given that kids are more likely to have the free time to not be “casuals” unlike adults who play as part of a life that includes jobs and families.

Unless the OP assumes the bulk of the hardcore are retired folk?

I don't give a monkey's about the Living Story, but I do recognise that the people who play for just three hours every time there's a new episode bring significant income to the company.

I suggest that you do the same.

boomer wars no warclaw or swiftness allowed

That is kind of funny to imagine. WvW hardcore made up of boomers and gen Z anonymously duking it out, while gen Xers and millennials hop in as casuals in between paying our mortgages and parenting our kids. 😄

Aren't we already there?  Gen Xers are not only parenting their kids, but kidding their parents about which rest home they'll be sent to...😉

Uh it has everything to do with guilds fighting other guilds. That was the original focus of guild wars 1, a pvp game The story was added afterwards. The reason wvw is "dead" is the same reason spvp and all forms of pvp in gw1 are "dead". Anet stopped development on them to focus on pvers aka open world. Why? Because new people equals micro transactions. Why do you think every other week is gemstore tuesday? Why do you think gemstore skins keep getting fancier to the point of putting legendaries to shame? Wvw died around people but they still happily grinding the karma train rofl. Greatest pvp game mode ever...
