Ran into this. If you already have completed "delving for treasure" then you cannot complete "Treasure Hunter: Darkrime Delves" since the chests are already opened.

Workaround confirmed: do it on a toon that has not unlocked the chests before. If you don't have an extra toon that has gone though Forged Steel already to get to Darkrime Delves, find a buddy that has and just enter their instance on your toon that has not unlocked the chests.

This is not entirely true. I did the achievments before. When I was running the mission, I found the first chest was open. I did end up finding chests that were not open. Look long and hard. I may not speak for everyone tho, but I was able to find 3.

Why do player that play and achiev stuff are always penalize in gw2? already you need to redo things because it s probably hard to instant validate for player that already did it before ... and then you have to wait 1 week for a fix, almost every "return" had a problem :/

I had same problem. Took a toon I hadnt done the story on to complete. So I had to redo the  Fire and Steel AGAIN. So annoying, this should have not been a issue ! After all it is RETURN to Fire and Steel.

a work around if you play this story on a different character who has not opened them you can loot the chests and get credit.

Same issue; getting the "Delving For Treasure" achievement back in the day left all the treasures already pre-opened and looted.  Kinda surprised this hasn't been patched so the "treasures" aren't restocked daily as per jumping puzzles or strike missions.
