Pet F control keys change request.

For 9 years it has been F1 Attack my target, F2 Pet skill, F3 Return to me and so on.

Now with the new Untamed (and Mechanist as well) those keys are now changed round. I'm not sure about anyone else and I wont speak for anyone else. But surely Anet you could have left Attack my Target as F1 and changed Pet skill to Return to me as F2 and then worked the others out around the other F keys. Again I dont want to speak for anyone else but me, tho I hope that I am not the only one thinking this.

It is quite confusing with the current set up and THEN when you change to SB or Druid or Core Ranger THE F KEYS all change again..... Please could you rearrange them so that they are set up in a standard pattern preferably F1 Attack my Target, F2 Return to me, F3 Pet Swap, F4 change Druid/SB/Untamed F5 button to F4, F5 Pet attack (other classes) and Untamed Skill 1, F6 Untamed Skill 2, F7 Untamed Skill 3. Yes I know that you can custom them in settings but the same thing happens  as soon as you change professions bam the keys are all set up wrong and you have to change them again... Hence Anet needs to standardize them between all Specs and then people can custom them from there....

Can you not just map them however you like?

If I'm being honest, I will probably make macros for Untamed. For QoL, not an unfair advantage. It is a ludicrous design.

Attack my Target and Unleashed Pet skill 1 will be mapped to the same key, F1.

Pet skill 1 will be on an automatic macro that will execute by itself since I don't want to have to press it every few seconds to gain core ranger functionality and to avoid carpel tunnel/RSI. I mean if I'm in combat with Ranger for 1 hour a day, that is six hundred additional unnecessary presses. Hand health ANet, hand health.

Beast skill will stay at F2 and will also execute Unleashed Pet skill 2.

Unleashed pet skill 3 will go to Shift+F2.

Return To Me will stay at F3.

Yes you can. But you forget that when you change specs from untamed to druid or soul beast or core you will then have to go back and change the F number buttons and then when you go back to untamed you will have to change them again.... No it is better to standardize them for all the elite specs.

I am using an external program for my mouse/keyboard to do my mapping so I won't have this problem.

I agree with you.

Yeah a outside program will simplify it for sure, tho will you have to set one for Untamed and one for Soulbeast/Druid/Core? Which is fine but you wouldnt want to forget to switch it over and then have to switch in the middle of a PvP  or WvW fight Lol!

Read my post above about binding multiple functions to the same key. You can't use them at the same time so it should be ok.

Adding Shift into your map may work well for you too. You can go Attack on F1, then Pet 1 and Untamed 1 as Shift + F1. Beast and Untamed 2 is F2. Return is F3, Untamed skill 3 and Beast Skill 3 are on Shift + F3.

It may work a bit better for me since my mouse has 12 buttons on it and I've just gotten used to that.

Yeah it should be uniform on all specs.

But honestly i really like the new pet?panel from untamed, would be really cool if this would become baseline instead.

This would also fix the issue of the mapping.

To be honest I don't mind what the baseline is, I only suggested the original idea because it is similar for 3 other specs and would be the easiest to implement. If they changed the baseline to what the Untamed is that is fine too I just think it would be more work.
