New leveled engineer

Hey all!
Waiting for the release of the new expansion, I decided to level up a charcater of each class to level 80 to have them ready to next expansion. For the next weeks I'm focusig on leveling an Engineer.
Basically, what I want to know is what build / role is it strong for the PVE endgame, basically fractals / raids / strikes (and also solo open world play). For example: I leveled my warrior and make him Banner Slave, as it's something useful in groups. I think the answer is Quickness, but not sure if any build is more used / better (links apreciated).
Important: I know with the new expansion many new build are going to come out. I'm not trying to master this builds or get ascended equipment, but my objective is to know what to focus during the leveling and what gear stats I should get at level 80 to play waiting for the next expansion.

If you're wanting to save hero points to do the new spec (mechanist), just focus on base engineer for a while.

 

Personally I leveled with flamethrower kit as my primary weapon, power gear, and rifle/flame/thumper turrets and supply drop up to 80.  Turrets are great at lower levels but start becoming really weak around 50-60, at that level range you can swap them for elixirs or other utilities to continue leveling.

 

Mechanist seems to play best with a condition build, the power build options for it just aren't great right now.

Did something similar.
As it was my 1st char I used the 80 token and get free Celestial gear from it, and later changing for Berzerker with karma.
The build I was using was purely focusing on exploring/convenience.

Stability, might, fury, good crit, high mobility (didn't have mount) and, so far it was fun and I even soloed many HP in HoT with it.
