Tier Manipulation - What is the preventive measures taken in the Alliance System

Only way to do it is to get all players to care about winning (not just the few servers that do currently)

Only way to do that is to have meaningful rewards while also balancing active population

Alliances when?

Edit: To elaborate, that means losing in T1 needs to pay better than winning in T2 (if there are even tiers at all), and ideally some kind of metric-based reward so that if you're going to lose, it is still worthwhile to play and try not to lose by as much rather than just giving up for the week.

So... more loot for winning but not really as this acknowledge how stupid that idea is. Someone always loose. Thats how winning works. Saying kitten you to the loosers instead of simply rewarding everybody for playing in a 24/7/365 mode is futile.

u guys still don't understand that the "tiers" are on paper ALL EQUAL. in reality, t1 and t5 are the only "loser" tiers. as long as ur in t2, t3, t4, u have a mobile matchup and by that alone keep your population kinda "healthy" and the content varying but active.

 

like, if there was rewards for beeing and winning ppt in tier 1, people could easily manage that. you'd have all the strong players in t1 servers then, and the crying of those who didn't get a spot would be enormous. +

 

obviously, as it'd be a bit weird to expect players to play 24/7 anyways. we'd probs just have more NA and SEA players to cover all timezones here (on the EU servers) in these cases. and since anet did decide long time ago (8 years or longer ago?) to not have players tryhard ppt ... which was the reason why the wvw tournaments have been removed . . . it is kinda weird to ask a fulltime ppt tryharding to come back now. like, who can really want that?

 

as long as 10 people groups can easily take lightly defended keeps and towers, there is absolutely no point in even remotely thinking of anything alike.

It's saying "don't give up. Even if you're going to lose, it's better to only lose by a few points than to stop playing the game and go home for the week".

Reward trying.

Right now what we have is .. uh .. one or two servers that actually care about winning, a few servers that "care about fights" (lol), and a few servers that don't care at all.

The game can do better than this.

I have not seen tier manipulation in six years.  Six years ago, yah I saw tier manipulation...if you considered it tier manipulation.  Two servers working purposely 2 vs 1 every single time vs. specific servers.  No rule against it.  Literally.  3 seperate teams?  Nothing says 2 vs. 1 is against the rules.  That's not manipulation.  That's building an alliance against some group you really don't like.  You all know how that works out.  So tier manipulation?  Is that what its called?
