Farothion.7604
One of my hobbies in GW2 and other games is trying to break out of the bounds of the regular maps. Sometimes I hit the boundaries of the map, but in several cases I stumble into absolute gems that are not open to the public. I would like to share these views with you in the screenshots below. I hope you enjoy them as I do! p.s. if anything I show here is in violation of the rules, please send me a message Arenanet and I will delete it. I don't intend to get in/cause trouble because I love the game. But I feel this is too cool to keep to myself and would like to share it. https://ibb.co/wJh1d1H - Ice Bridge & Cave in Grothmar Valleyhttps://ibb.co/M6QzGjD - Crucible of Eternity Overlook - Dayhttps://ibb.co/n6Ks290 - Crucible of Eternity Overlook - Nighthttps://ibb.co/31dfKVL - Deidre's Steps / The Hidden Garden in Mount Maelstrom (Personal favorite)https://ibb.co/K7nbT31 - Rata Sum before they threw me in the brig 😉https://ibb.co/4Y9HD4g - Some Aztec-looking shack in Silverwasteshttps://ibb.co/GC7NZ51 - Golden Rock Overlook in Silverwasteshttps://ibb.co/r0QQHmk - Vinewrath Rock Overlook - Silverwastes https://ibb.co/m5JWtnH - Black Citadel - Haunted Cavern (top)https://ibb.co/XSMqFjq - Black Citadel - Haunted Cavern (mid)https://ibb.co/PWHMLfv - Black Citadel - Haunted Cavern (bot) https://ibb.co/Vxyv7tV - Auric Basin - Highest point in Tarirhttps://ibb.co/vqZCyXL - Caledon Forest - Cerebrus (Personal favorite)https://ibb.co/BGvN9MD - Caledon Forest - Lava Pod Chamberhttps://ibb.co/sJ4gw7P - Caledon Forest - Lava Vine Hallhttps://ibb.co/w46ZrGQ - Caledon Forest - Lava Jumping Treehttps://ibb.co/5KgKYbJ - Highest point in Dry Tophttps://ibb.co/25x75VW - Dry Top - The Wallhttps://ibb.co/1JtR1dT - Durmand Priory Mountain - Lornars' Pass (Personal favorite)https://ibb.co/n8CZgRQ - Grothmar Valley - Doomlore Overlookhttps://ibb.co/41kkqgG - Grothmar Valley - Kralkatoric's Shack Overlook Edited January 9, 2022 by Farothion.7604 Links to images not working, fixed now :) 7
Mungrul.9358
Been a while since I did this on purpose in GW2, but a friend and I made a habit of doing it in Destiny 2 (which is seriously full of holes for some of its explorable areas). It's great fun! Good pics too 🙂
Danikat.8537
I can't see the pictures, it's just taking me to a Google sign in page. 😕 But as far as I know this is allowed as long as you're not using it to exploit anything. Running around under/behind the map is fine, deliberately using it to break things is not, although it's rare that you even have that opportunity, the most you're likely to be able to do is run under the map to the end of a jumping puzzle then get yourself back into the normal map at the same point so you can get the chest without doing the puzzle. If you haven't already seen them I recommend checking out the northern edges of both Silverwastes and Drytop. Silverwastes has more to see, but IMO Drytop is the more surprising of the two. Fang Wolfika.6820
I was able to see pictures, I recognize a few of them, others I do not. I can't seem to place the ones that look like ascalon or the one with the ice cave, may I ask what zone they are in? The ice cave somewhat reminds me of a location from gw1 that was full of ice imps, but I may be wrong on that one.

It's great fun! Good pics too 🙂 Thank you! I have done this a lot around 2014 too. Unfortunately many offmap-locations have been closed since then. I am glad some of the major ones are still accessable in 2022! Since not everyone saw the pictures here, mind commenting and upvoting my other post here>>

HnRkLnXqZ.1870
Breaking out of bounds is not a problem. Question is what you do there. Once you use it to get a benefit from it, you are basically exploiting. Just looking around is fine. What you do with your discoveries is up to you. I usually report my findings directly. There is one location, I was certain they have managed to seal air-tight last time. Seems my assumption was incorrect. Good job! Pictures are quite impressive, some of the locations take a lot of patience to reach nowadays. Are you EU or NA? Hey there, as the screenshots might proof, I am only interested in beautiful sceneries and discovering uncharted territory. I have no intention of exploiting. I wouldn't possibly know what would benefit me so much I wouldn't just do some T4 Fractals or Legendary crafting instead anyway 😉 I am EU, I have gone out of bounds since 2014 and what you say is very true. Some of the old 'off-maps' have been closed. But hardly any map is truely 'Air-tight'. And for the sake of nice screenshots. I hope it stays that way! It is one of the things I do when I don't have another ingame goal. Removing opportunities to break out of the map would probably make me quit the game for a while instead till I have another ingame goal.
