shadypenguin.6049
Hey guys, I was hoping to get some advice on good solo builds at this time. It seems that I am just getting destroyed when doing solo play and my survivability is really limited. Most frustrating is that I just came back to the game after not playing for a long time and I need to get hero points to unlock the new builds but so many of the hero point require me to kill an elite mob which literally 1 shots me once my dodge is on CD. What do you guys recommend. It's even more frustrating because my necromancer literally can just stand still and solo the same stuff without even trying. Tails.9372
Dual Pistol Daredevil / Deadeye with berserker / marauder stats works rather well in almost all solo scenarios and is also one of the easier builds to play (here is an example of it). DeanBB.4268
If you have both HoT and PoF, then switch to the PoF hero points. Many are easier to get. I typically do a combo of the two, picking the easiest ones from each. Communes and such, as opposed to champions. P/P with the healing on crits can restore a lot of health. [edit] There are also hero point trains, watch for commanders and watch the map chat. Edited January 7, 2022 by DeanBB.4268

Don't give up hope, Thief is capable of soloing big baddies but it won't be as fast as necro. If you just want to unlock skill points, ask around in verdant brink for a hero point train, people run these frequently. Or in amnoon for path of fire expansion. For solo builds, I would look at Pistol/ Pistol, staff daredevil, or dagger/dagger condition daredevil. For big bad guys, you can't get better than Pistol dagger condition build. Until you unlock daredevil or deadeye, I would run critical strikes, trickery, and acrobatics if you want a Dodger playstyle. Or replace acro with shadow arts if you want an attrition style. SoftPup.3048
I use Marauder gear for extra vitality, that daredevil trait that gives extra vitality, Invigorating Precision for constant healing, and https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Scoop_of_Mintberry_Swirl_Ice_Cream for even more sustain on crit. Daddy.8125
I use D/P + P/P deadeye. With invigorating precision in berserker gear was able to quite alot of the HoT HPs. The build I know is on metabattle as power deadeye to the exact one I use, at work so can't provide a link But works out pretty kitten well. Caedmon.6798
Deadeye rifle/dp ( Do make sure you know how to stack stealth ) for sure, its a "safe" thief spec since you dont have to be dancing around in Aoe spamm neither and can safely spamm from distance while still having the option to do proper damage on melee aswell when needed. It does need practice though, stacking stealth, making proper use of positioning, not wasting init, spiking at the correct times, not getting hit. But by far its the safest spec to go by imo when you do learn it. Edited January 31, 2022 by Caedmon.6798

If you want a really fun condition build, try Ebola. It will help you fight multiple mobs at once and hits rapidly enough that Signet of Malice's passive will keep you alive in about 95% of the situations you get into. It's also good for training evasion timing and positioning. The ~20s bleeds you'll be putting on everything will stack up high and your bleed ticks will easily reach 5-digits. Of course, change it up to your liking. Edited January 31, 2022 by Zacchary.6183
