Gwaymor.9607
... for the idle animations of our mounts. I know, it's a small thing, and many other aspects of the game, well, don't quite deserve loud applause, but - thank you, ANET, for making the mounts SO lifelike. I can stare at my mount, any mount, for good minutes from the first person view and just... enjoy it so much. jokke.6239
Yeah cool animations 🙂 While GW2 is my personal favorite MMO, one thing GW2 have over all other MMOs are the mounts. It even made me enjoy world completion. First character without mount was a pain 😄 After coming back to the game i'm currently completing world completion on my 3rd character. It's not just "get from point a to b faster" I feel like i'm playing a spyro the dragon like platformer with all these abilities 🙂 Everytime I play another MMO I miss GW2 mounts when i'm mounting up. The instant mounting is also something that makes the game feel more fluid (no cast time) Edited January 9, 2022 by jokke.6239 1

In my opinion the mounts are very well designed, each having its unique features and soul. No two mounts do the same thing and they're all useful depending on the situation. And now they're taking it to the next level with the Siege Turtle, which I'm super excited about! 😄    2

Farohna.6247
The mounts have wonderful personalities, beautiful details, and are one of GW2's shining points. They continue to amuse and delight me several years later.   2

Dawdler.8521
I feel that describing a definetly imaginary animal as "lifelike" to be... odd. I mean what do you base your comparison on? The skyscales living under your porch? The warclaw you saw crossing the road last time you drove to work? 1

In the sense that they "feel" alive and like companions, just like real-life animals 🙂 2

No artist concocts things whole-cloth from imagination. The mounts mimic the behaviors of, and are structured like, real animals. You’ve never seen bad fantasy artwork where the creatures don’t look like they have weight because the artist doesn’t understand anatomy? We base our comparison of skyscales on lizards and bats and birds. We weigh the Warclaw against real world predator mammals. Min Min.9368
One of the raptor's idle animations is shaking her head vigorously till you nearly fall off your seat. Been seeing that for years but it's only recently when i zoomed in closely that I noticed your character besides reacting with an extended arm gesture, she actually said What?! That's really cool 😀 The new special features in HoT and PoF expansions are done very well, I just hope that EoD will not disappoint too much, like the 9th year birthday gift 😞 Ya, that still hurts. Agreed, the raptor one where it almost knocks off our characters from scratching itself is probably my favorite. 7 hours ago, Dawdler.8521 said: I feel that describing a definetly imaginary animal as "lifelike" to be... odd. I mean what do you base your comparison on? I wonder about everybody else most of the time so I hope it balances out. "Lifelike" implies there is a real world reference they look like. Even the basic raptor is hard to compare with a dinosaur because well they dont run around here any more and I'm still not sure they would behave like that even if you could put a saddle on and ride them.
