Engineer kits, how or when do I get them?

Read the Wiki and internet, explains the types of kits but not how to get them. Are they assigned to f2-f5 as you level up? Purchase them?

Engineer kits are a type of utility skill. From level 11 onwards you have the option to use hero points to unlock them in the training menu (in the hero panel). Once they're unlocked you assign the kit to one of the utility skill slots (7-9 by default) and then press that button to activate the kit. 

 

It will replace your weapon skills with one's specific to the kit (for example the grenade kit gives 5 types of grenade) and you can swap between the kit and your weapon skills, or between different kits, whenever you want.

u misleaded by the "kit" word, is just utility skill like "grenades" that replace your weapons skills.

Yea its the Tool Kit, Grenade Kit, Mortar Kit, Flame Thrower they are unlocked as part of your skills sub 80. Once you reach 80 you have them all. They are really a cool aspect of engi. They will trigger weapon swap for sigils in your weapons btw .
