How do I know which Account I linked?

Okay, so, this is pretty straight forward.

I think.

I have 2 Guild Wars accounts (that is, of the original game), one that I bought years ago and one that I bought recently. I just tried linking the one i bought recently to my Guild Wars 2 account because it was shown as Non-active in the Arenanet account screen,  but when I tried to, it said I already had a Guild Wars 1 account linked to my Guild Wars 2 account. Afterwards, It showed Guild Wars 1 as Active in the Arenanet account panel. 

 

I tried resetting the password of the old account (that being the one that, apparently, is linked to Guild Wars 2, but all I get is the Account tab and not much else.

I confess, I am horribly confused by these revelations. 

If someone with reasonable proficiency could explain me how any of this is happening or why and, perhaps most importantly, how I find out which account is linked to Guild Wars 2 (since i need that for the Hall of monuments thing), It'd be greatly appreciated.

When you link accounts you will unlock 3 HoM points; you can enter the original Guild Wars 2 Eye of the North and  make sure some rewards are unlocked.  Then you can use the Hall of Monuments calculator to ascertain which account is linked.  https://hom.guildwars2.com/us/

When you link 2 accounts, the Guild Wars (1) account takes on the account name and password of the Guild Wars 2 account, so your GW(1) account that's linked will have to use the email and password of your GW2 account.
