Fix the unranked loot

Why won't you give the unranked a possibility to gain ascended shards to farm the armor.

Do fractals, raids, or WvW has such a distinction?  

Pips and ascended shards gates keep people playing ranked for all the wrong reasons.  

Give those rewards in unranked and think of something unique per season for ranked play.

 

It really is that simple and doesn't require too much development time.

I don't see how it would hurt to be able to get to at least somewhere with playing unranked in conquest seasons. E.g. you could get to the persimmon chest by playing unranked, for the rest you need ranked.

In wvw you can get the gold chest easily, and that is arguably all you need to get ascended gear if you are patient.

In fractals you can do t1 and also get ascended gear, if you are patient.

Though I imagine if pips/rewards could be gained in unranked, it could degenerate to what ranked is (tooth and nail for the win and definitely almost no fun).

Or just merge it with rankeds.

Sounds oversimplified at first but really, why have to opt in to getting extra rewards?

And if you merge both to one queue then that's more players in one place and if players are balanced correctly the unranked players should end up at the bottom anyway3

With the current reward system I see little reason to play unranked, unless you want to play Stronghold or need the Spirit Watch achievements.

Even unskilled players get far batter rewards in ranked bronze league than unranked.

My points exactly, the only reasons for unranked to stay are:

1. prolong the queues in ranked games
2. cattered towards people who faces anxiety while playing something that tries to label them with an artificial number.

Please consider.
