Mech still unusable under water [Merged]

You are releasing an expansion with new under water bosses to fight and then release an elite spec alongside which is absolutely unusable under water. How this could ship is absolutely mind boggling.

What was even the point of the last beta event if no feedback is taken in anyway? Was it just for marketing? Because it actually makes me want to play this game less. I am just quitting at this point, tbh.

You do have the "barrage" or what ever it was called, but like all Engineer underwater it's meh.

This barrage is a single damaging skill and costs you the entire toolbelt under water... not to mention that literally every single trait from the mechanist trait line deals with the mech, meaning that you are basically a worse core engineer (1 toolbelt skill instead of 5) with just 2 trait lines as a mechanist under water.

It is absolutely unusable under water, no reason to sugarcoat it.

I kind of sorta get the other compromises to make Mechanist work but no mech underwater is pretty game breaking.

TBH It looks like they haven't taken on board any of the feedback from people actually playing this specialisation and just nerfed it's damage output.

Bare minimum would have been moving Crashdown from F4 to F5 to keep it consistent with other Engineer profession mechanics and they haven't even managed that.

I am appalled that Anet decided it would be fine to release the Mechanist elite specialization with Jade Mech being completely unusable underwater.  The Mech Support: Depth Charges underwater skill, the only F skill Mechanist's get underwater, is a complete joke. It feel like merely a quick, band-aid solution that they tacked on at end of development so that Mechanists have AT LEAST something underwater, and, at risk of sounding like an entitled consumer, players deserve better than this.

Mechanist has always felt like a downgrade to me because of the lack of a toolbelt, which offers much more utility and customizability than you can achieve with the mech. Not having a mech underwater and a single F skill which I think is supposed to make up for it really only solidifies that for me.

If they couldn't get the mech working underwater for whatever reason, they should have at least let us have our toolbelt and just replaced the elite toolbelt skill with depth charges.

Wow. A moderator in this sub-forum. Probably mistook it for the Elementalist board ^^.

Was also quite disappointed about the missing underwater-combat for Mechanist. Currently diving into water feels like getting shackles. No Mech, no toolbelt skills. I honestly fear this is going to stay as long as the make-shift skin of the mortar-kit :S.

what the hell?! i just got my skyscale and was wondering about buying EoD ONLY for the mech. finding out that you cannot use the foundation of your ELITE SPEC is just a game changer... i'm gonna buy the game when I can use my elite spec underwater... thank you very much!

To be honest, I don't think it's gonna change so either forget about EoD forever, or buy it for any other reason other than the Mechanist elite spec.

I'm not saying I agree with the mech not being able to go underwater, but the reality of it is that it doesn't look like it's gonna be a thing, hope I'm proven wrong though.

Anet probably doesn’t think it’s worth the development time, even if it would be healthy for the game. Same reason why countless bugs that are years old still exist in this game. Because they’d “rather spend their resources elsewhere” and squeeze as much profit out of the gw2 player base. When it comes to black lion chest exclusives they never EVER fail to produce new skins on a regular basis like clockwork.
