Dragon's End (Suu-won)

The meta is good in concept, I see the need for two mechanical changes though.

1. The Defiance Bar on the Thornbeasts needs to be toned down. Right now you barely make a dent in in even applying some 600 Defiance damage. And while you apply that it's already lost 20-40% health.

2. Sun-woo herself, killing the tail needs to remove health from her. Right now bad RNG means that even if you do everything optimally you can still fail. Case in point, last time I tried to do it we were 50 people in a squad, all raiders, all subdivided into units that had as many boons as possible. During the fight we got one Defiance Bar and five or six tails. We failed at 5% health simply because the time we had to spend to kill the tails meant that we lost that damage on Suu-won.

I just came from the exact same situation. a SUPER organized group of all vet raiders. all had beaten Dhuum at least once. we failed 3 times in a row. one time we got trolled. another time pugs messed up the green phase. 

But the third time had to be the most heart wrenching. we LITERALLY did EVERYTHING perfect. perfect tail rotations. aoe dodges we skipped both green phases and we did the mechanics almost flawlessly... until the end... we had so many rng knock downs and aoes and crap hitting us, we got a blue bar and missed it BY A HAIR. it costed us the meta. 

It's just too hard. its not fun. its infuriating. its WAY overtuned. and honestly. RAIDS ARE EASIER. at least if we fail a raid boss, we can instantly try again, here you have to waste another hour and a half just to try again. I can honestly say, the only thing this meta has done, has make me HATE Anet.

There's a lot of mechanics that have bad scaling. Here's 3 more.

  1. People are trying to get around the wisp phase, rather than engage with it, as players feel that shortcuts are needed to reach the end goal.
  2. The whirl pools have a huge defiance bar. They are a waste of time to engage with.
  3. Bubble prisons have such high HP to a point where individual players cannot free their allies. Players who lack direct damage ranged attacks cannot contribute to freeing others.
