DC on "Rescue Gorrik" part of "Old Friends"

Would be great if I could play the expansion.  I am stuck on one of the very first story quests.  The game loses connection right after the cutscene with me dead on the beach.  Tried it half a dozen times at least and it crashes same place every time.  Restart and I am back in Lornar's Pass.  I can't get to Cantha.  I can't progress the story past the first 10 minutes.  Fix the kitten game.

Did you ever get passed it? July 17th still crashing for me. Wonderful way to enjoy a new expansion by paying and playing it woot!!

I still have this issue, no idea what causes it but I just...keep replaying the mission until it eventually works. Seems to happen on other missions too, whenever cutscenes are involved.

Easiest thing to try is set content streaming to max.

Disconnected after a cutscene? I've had this one at one point, and google search pointed me to ancient by now thread on previous forums, where some networking folks decided to troubleshoot it, and they arrived at conclusion that issue happens on a very specific series of routers (like not even specific models, mind you) and they "fix" they proposed was to ask ISP for new modem/router device.

Worked for me when I had this issue.

i got passed it by just pressing the space bar and jumping alot until it exited the cutscene
