I had an idea for a Hammer 🔨 Elementalist elite spec a while ago, which I believe parts of the idea mixed with Catalyst could really make for an Interesting Hammer 🔨 Elementalist Elite Specs. 

 

I took some inspiration from WoW's Shaman and Rift's cleric and GW1 Ritualist for this idea.

 

Elementalist New ES Idea: SHAMAN


 

Elite Spec Name: Shaman

Weapon: Hammer

New Skill Type: Augment 

Mechanics: F5= Avatar Form and Spirit Totems

 

Elementalist Elite Spec becomes Shaman.

 

Shaman wields the powers and fury of the elements through their Hammer and slams it into the face of their enemies before the presence of Elemental Spirits.

 

Mechanics:

The way elementalist switch Attunements is changed. It's now a toggle mechanic that uses the weapon swap keybine for cycling through attunements, In exchange for the cool down being replaced as a trade-off. 

F1 to F4 are now Totem skills. 

 

Each Totem has a unique general effect that changes based on the Element the Shaman is Attuned to. 

 

F1 Totem- Totem summons a spirit that attacks enemies with a ranged attack

 

F2 Totem- Totem summons a spirit that targets allies with support, boons and elemental shield

 

F3 Totem- Totem summons Spirit that cast AoE Ground effects

 

F4 Totem- Totem summons spirit that has high defense and cleaves enemies in melee range.

 

Each Attunement adds its own flavor to the totems but they still function in the general method above.


 

Spiritual Energy-

The Shaman generates Spiritual Energy in combat to use for the Avatar form.

 

Avatar form F5-

Avatar Form (F5) changes the form of the Shaman for temporary time period. Graphically Avatar Form changes you into a magical Effigy based on your grandmaster trait

Avatar form is similar to Specter Shroud. Has skills 1-7

Grandmaster Avatar-

*One is focused on ranged combat and conditions.

*One is focused on melee ranged combat and defense.

*One is purely support focused.


 

Weapon is Hammer:

Like the current Catalyst, it is a combo of Ranged weapon and Melee weapon based on attunement. 

 

Augment skill type:

These have special effects, which also can rapidly change the elemental type of the spirit Totem that is on the field that was already summoned.

Why not push it harder and make an ele/renegade hybrid. The F1-4 each summons a stationary totem (or the Nahpui celestial) that functions like the current jade sphere. Meanwhile the utility skills are changed and locked depending on the kind of totem invoked.

When the totem is out, your energy gets drained and when it’s empty, totem is gone and your utilities revert to whatever you set up before fight. Of course you can also use F5 to “release” the totem.
