Okay, who gave the Jade Sea Boss candy?

Recommended Posts

Why for the love of Aurene did you touch the "bite" attack? I had 3 runs today and in all three of them, it flipped out at 80%. On the final run it swapped sides SEVEN TIMES IN A ROW. My Lieutenants stopped counting its total swaps after the 20th. I love this Meta but good lord.

What is going on in your dev room? Do you guys not have play testers for this stuff before you throw it out? I'm sure there are plenty in the community who would be more than happy to test this stuff without needing anything in return. I literally cannot enjoy this Meta anymore when it decides to start bouncing off the walls. At the very least, please pause the timer when the boss "bites" or let it still take condition damage while moving. The tail does even when we can't target it, why can't the boss itself?

  • Catilena.8729 changed the title to Okay, who gave the Jade Sea Boss candy?

Just failed a meta that pretty much matches that description. Smooth sailing until 80%, then there were rarely two other actions between two bite attacks, most of the time it was just one or none at all. Between all the players running back and forth the dps fell off a steep cliff.

At this rate success is almost 100% RNG.

There is something really fishy now with Soo-Won's mechanics... switching sides too often, and somehow the CC mechanic will now pop on HEAD when TAIL is up... this just adds unnecessary complexity to an event that already kills many coordinated effeorts even.

No that's been a thing since launch, that is why I have always done split groups and put my highest DPS and Condi players in tail and kept most of my people on her head. Before they screwed up the bite, this strat worked cuz we were able to always break her defiance with or without my Tail Team with us. I was able to guarantee my squads that we'd make it to the 3 boss split every time. Now it doesn't really matter what we do because as soon as she gets to 80%, she just keeps moving.

What I don't get is why anet touched it. There was literally no freaking reason at all to do ANYTHING to the Bite attack. If they wanted to fix her acid attack to give CC every time again, fine but why did they see "Oh the players want more Bites" when we were saying "Fix her Acid so that they are all CC again."?

The worst part is I have been defending the hell out of the team since EoD launch, as many of my guildmates and squad members have something to say about how EoD launch was handled, but I literally cannot defend this.

Just, why?

Oh yes! haha. Appreciate you~

Thank you ❤️ I run this Meta over and over to help people get it because I know a lot of commanders for the Meta either:

Require sweaty tryhard/raid builds and all kinds of stats the average GW2 Player doesn't care about

Run the Meta exactly once and as soon as they win they will never touch it again.

I wanna help the folks who would otherwise get turned away, but it's kinda hard to do that when SOMEONE decides to troll the community. *glares at whoever is in charge of the DE Meta*

I'm sure it's an oversight, a lot of this patch seemed to be. I'm struggling on my Berserker to see my cooldowns because the fire effect is now on top instead of behind the skillbar lmao.

If only there was a way to screen this stuff before it's put out. Like, just grab a volunteer who can, I dunno have fun examining your patch. What do they call those people? Oh yeah, PLAY TESTERS

Seriously they do not test their stuff EVER.

Soo-Won has always been able to do CC when tail is up.

Plot twist: they changed nothing about the fight for the past 2 weeks.

From the Tuesday patch notes:

03/29/2022—Late Notes

General

  • End of Dragons event rewards have been improved.
  • Improved timing and flow for the bite attack sequence for the final boss in the Battle for the Jade Sea meta-event, which will allow for slightly more uptime on attacking the boss.
  •

Anet calls it a bite, everyone else calls it a swap.

Since the patch, won 3 out of 4, so it's obviously not like what it was right after release. And no, I don't join squads that only asked for Raid builds, etc. So long as squads are formed at least 45 to 60 minutes ahead of time to give every one enough time to get stacks. Although, just need 30 minutes especially since escorts allow 5 stacks now for late-comers.

Regardless of what squad asked for, it really doesn't matter what the build is. If a comm's ego is so huge as to kick you from the squad, so what? Just join the fight without being in the squad. Depending on what the actual map cap is (80?), there's always quite a few not in squads at the meta.

I can understand your frustrations at the meta not being successful all the time, but it's very disingenuous to say they don't test it. Also, they make fixes to it because apparently it wasn't working as intended.
