Revisiting the classics

Recommended Posts

Some of the old warrior wants and requests from back in the day with some still being asked for:

  • Using [Hundred Blades] while moving instead of being rooted in one place
  • More F burst abilities, example: F1, F2, F3, F4 - most people typically wanted defensive and support options when it came to burst
  • Battlaxe
  • Spear
  • Easier to handle banners

What were some of the requests that sparked your imagination or filled your warrior dreams? Which ideas do you still cling to?

Once upon a time, many years ago, I had a dream. The Warrior was a real force on the battleground. The influence of his banners spread far and wide, inspiring the whole army. And then I woke up.

ps: this dream really happened im not lying

Warriors used to be among the top dogs antler cats when the game launched.

Four Berserker Warriors and one Time Warp Mesmer was one among the best kinds of groups.

I believe [Flurry] was also part of this request.

I forgot about this. People stopped talking about unrooting [Flurry] at some point. I think it was after sword was put into the condi category when anet first buffed condi and I think people stopped paying attention to it.

Or maybe people still want to unroot the skill. I hardly use condi warrior.

People do still want it unrooted.

I still want a warrior espec based on LotrO's captain,

already most of the skill names are similar, just want pet soldiers and a support based build that's it.

Oh, I miss that class; what a great spec it could be here. I remember a good Captain in a raid group could make the difference between various levels of failure, and making things flow smoothly to success.

So yeah, no chance Anet would give  it to GW2's Warrior 😒

I'm glad someone else thinks the same way. it fits perfectly with warrior's theme tbh. Anything that's close to the lotro's captain, I'm immidiately sold. just shut up and take my wallet.

other than pet soldiers and companions, some abilities made me addicted to it:

shield brother, oathbreakers shame, in harm's way, time of need, last stand (we have it lol), cry of vengeance, banners, and also had 3 diffrent marks, not like our noob "on my mark"  😒

I believe Specter got the thing as you can tether siphon/shroud to an ally.

I liked the capitain on LotRo but I must admit that champion was my favourite heavy armor profession (Be it the berserker spec, the AoE spec or the tank spec, they all felt great to play). A lot changed since I played this game, thought.

The Burglar, the Warden and the Fleeting feet Ranger were awesome as well. (I couldn't stand playing the other professions)

Took a look at Lotro's wiki and to many things changed since I played it 10 year ago. There is even 2 new professions, mount combat and a weird specialization system. If my body and my computer allowed me I might try it again as well but I'm afraid the charm of discovering the beginner's area would already be lost (And I swear that it's what I enjoyed the most in this game).

kinda similar, I spent most of my time in pvmp but what I really loved was playing music and decorating my home 😄

To be fair, unless it's changed in the last couple of years, you only want to land the first hit of Flurry to apply the root, regardless of whether you're running condi or not. The remaining hits do garbage damage, even compared to auto. But a 4s immob can be good.

So there's no need to remove the root because you only want to channel the skill for 1/4s.
