How do I hide this little green overlay?

Recommended Posts

The picture is fine, he just switched the link and the text. Clicking the link tries to send you to "screenshot" which was supposed to show where it now says https://ctrlv.link/Ncjh

However, I cannot see any overlay in that picture, because whatever the screenshot was taken with seems to have ignored it 🙂

Ok I just now saw the overlay which is TINY and at a weird location that I simply didnt see before. I am pretty sure this does NOT come from guildwars2 but from something else installed on your PC. Possibly some NVidia "feature" that you turned on by accident sometime.

The link(s) aren't the same as before.  I use many adblockers/etc. at once, and now I can no longer see the image.

If anyone wants to see it, you can see it on other posts regarding the same issue.  Or watch some Guild Chats and see the Dev 'overlay'.  It's the same one.

A direct link from where, though? I don't think the OP can help you with your settings.

Right-click the image, select "Open Image in New Tab." Simple. 😉

For those wanting to see the 'overlay' and for more posts on the issue, see this thread:

Your posted content displays as "😞 Sorry, we can't show this content because you do not have permission to see it" for me.

For the first part of your post, it didn't used to say that when viewing it.

For the second part, I will try again:  https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/topic/113494-help-to-remove-game-stats-in-cutscenes

(That's the kind of message one gets when a post/thread is removed - not sure why it is showing up; the thread is on the second page.)

It does not when the site pops up an overlay that covers the whole page and tells me to deactivate my adblocks. :classic_rolleyes:

Hence my request for a direct link to the JPG. 🙂

Looks like you still use AdblockPlus, which was awesome for years, but well.....

With UBlock Origin you don't get that overlay.

Hey, thanks for the heads-up! 🙂 Just installed your recommended extension for Firefox.

This would be the direct link to the image: https://ctrlv.link/shots/2022/04/29/Ncjh.png

OP - are you running the GW2 client with the -ShowFPS option?

How do you start the game, just the vanilla short cut that gets installed with the game or did you modify how it runs the gw2 executable?

It looks like the overlay from that command line option, no?

There is no -ShowFPS command line argument for Guild Wars 2, and has not been, that I know of.

Hm, you're right, I think it must have been -perf I thought of. Must be another game that had the showFps setting 😄

There are data stats showing up during cutscenes and character creation. Don't have any mods running, nothing in command lines, and it's the only game that has this issue. As far as I'm aware of it's new though I just made a new character today since I don't how long. I looked on the internet and found only two other people have the same issue and their post was from the beginning of March. How do I turn it off?

It's not something you can toggle yourself, it's normally only visible on the dev client. They likely forgot to disable it under certain conditions; it seems to only appear on higher resolutions.

I doubt this will work, but considering it's something the devs can toggle, maybe it's a hidden setting. Warning - this will reset all game settings - launch using: -prefreset
