lucadiro.4519 Posted November 9, 2017 Share Posted November 9, 2017 Yesterday I just played a lot this build and I feel it amazing.Sw/F energy + explotationMarauder + Pack runesAir 233Water 131Weaver 122As utility skill I use glyph heal, twist of fate, earthshield, blink, FgsBasically I swap arcane trait line from phantaram build to have the less possible boons generation since anyway everything around that just look at you corrupt them or strip them away.Also having water trait line give you some good condi cleans and raise your susistain a lot thanks the cd reduction to water skill (hi riptide!)Earth shield basically give you 2 free LR proc and one of them is also AoE (!!!)Also the invulnerabilty from earth shield 5 + the block from 2 + the barrier generation make you really tanky, and while a good timed burst still down you in a second, if you manage well your defensive skill you can also hold 2 people for a good amount of time. Or also win the 1v2 if you have some good skill to outplay them.I honestly find it amazing, I came back since a pretty long breack from pvp, and I basically don’t know well other PoF builds, wich skill to avoid etc etc, but I played some unranked with it and I felt it great so I tried go ranked and I won 6/8 of my placement with it.The lost ones were basically when enemy team comp had a high stabilty uptime, so yes, you should think about it before the start of the match and eventually swap to mender condi weaver.Try it guys and make me know what you think about! The build has some nasty engage capabilty but lower finishing potential. So you need a team. Its hybrid support that disrupts the enemy. The biggest issue I had with it was that you have 0 protection running this way, and being the squishiest class without protection means things like DP thief/DE/Power shiro will ABSOLUTELY destroy you. Maybe running earth shield would help with this and I didnt consider that part myself, but idk if the uptime on it is worth the chance that you get randomly bursted down.You also lack the constant fury that arcane gives you (which is a lot of damage), no vigor for less evades, and the longer cd on swap = less energy from sigil, less damage from frequent lightning strikes, and more vulnerability because you cant swap to your defensive abilities quickly. Its definitely better now that your autoattacks arent garbage, but I feel like the same can be said for arcane lightning rod. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
lucadiro.4519 Posted November 9, 2017 Author Share Posted November 9, 2017 Heal glyph can provide some minimal protection, and earth shield alone, if managed well can mitigate more damage than protection would ever do, by block, inv and barrier.For the lack of fury you have to take in mind that with pack runes and the weaver trait you can reach easily 80% crit chance, since both your dual skill + LR inflict weakness. Also pack runes give you some fury.But as I said since there are a lot of boon corruption and strip around, I found helpfull try to depend the less possible from boons. That’s the reason why I choose pack runes... you are less dependent from fury with 65% base crit chance.For dp thieves I find the earth shield just magic, you can inv to prevent a burst while they are stealthed, pull them (with LR proc) while they are stealthed and also earth shield 3 is a magnetic aura gain (hi headshot!) for a double LR proc lol.I usually try to save earth shield for team fight or fighing thieves since the long cd.In my opinion s/d thieves would be harder to fight against since they can basically evade most of your cc.Never fought a power shiro since I run this build so I don’t know, but they don’t have stab.Basically this build has less burst than the arcane variant but way more susistain so I think its matter of taste Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Orihalconite.5210 Posted November 9, 2017 Share Posted November 9, 2017 I personally have started experimenting with weaver 131 for stability while using ether renewal as a heal. This plus arcane 221 and earth 4 is more than enough condi clear (the main reason you go water). The only downside of this is that I need to take weave self so that the stability happens more often, but even that isnt so bad if you take leadership runes (benefit from all the stats weave self gives you + condi clear), and tailored victory is still a LR proc + HUGE cc.
