The best counter to scourge?

I'm tired of bad players winning matches simply because they play scourge and spam condi cancer. What's the best profession and build to counter this mess?

don't 1v1 them, use ranger or thief p/p and hit from a far, or out condi them as another necro with plague signet and trait that sends condi back to them, or be a warrior/spellbreaker with lot of resistance and stuns. idk just some ideas.

Best counter to Scourge is Thief,.... because once you see one, you can run away faster and farther than any other Profession.

as a avid necro player i will tell you that sitting on point and eating pew pews to the face we will not "sit" on point very long were not tanky like that

That is interesting to note Nova, ty friend.Also guys I've got some great news - I've put together a little reaper build (power) and so far things have been pretty decent. Scourges can still burst me down with huge amounts of condi BUT I have been able to mitigate and then kill them, I've been successful and it feels viable. Pretty happy right now.

Plague Signet trait no longer exist, and Warrior/Spellbreaker got nerfed. Pew Pew is the only way out.

From personal experience as a scourge and mirage player, longbow ranger and DH longbow I was not able to beat as scourge and as a power or condi mirage, scourge were easy targets as long as I didn't go into melee range. Scourge vs scourge tends to be who can melt the other scourge first. I would say anything that can do good damage at range and stay at range is a good choice. Spellbreakers before the patch were good too although I haven't played scourge since the patch so I don't know if they are still good.

Anything ranged. Scepter ele is particularly good at it, but it still is a skill matchup. If you eat too many condis you'll still lose.

With Vanilla Fresh Air ele my main spec, I find scourge is easier to deal with then reaper ever was, also druid. Just play a druid to hard counter scourge. I beat my friend of even skill level like 49 / 50 times using druid against his condi scourge. I'm sure power mirage can nuke the kittens hard as well, fresh air ele is truly strong in this meta, and I am sure the same logic applies with mesmer (Ranged nuke damage with heavy CC, this is how you give scourge an impossible fight to win. )

Anything that does a lot of damage quickly. Ranged is the safest, but you can do melee too if you're quick enough.

Yup. If I'm on the point, you're not taking it and I'm not even the best player. Scourge has a lot of ways to put anyone in defensive mode. Deadeyes are easy to LoS.

It's also worth noting that Dragonhunters can force a Scourge off point easily. Their F3 protects them quite well, since all Shade skills and Torch skills (the bulk of Scourge damage) are not unblockable. Ghastly Breach isn't either, FYI. It's a short window, but it may be all you need.

can confirmed i run power shatter mirage , and even with firebrand , i could kill scourge . the main problem is DD is a bit harder to deal with but manageable .
