Returned to game to find all HP for a zone completed, but not one section of the zone is mapped.

As the title says, I can't figure out what happened.

 

When I hovered over the zone before heading there it showed nothing but the name of the zone. Just like it does for all unmapped zones that haven't been entered.

 

This is not the only time this has happened and not the only character on which its happened.

Are you sure you are not confusing heropoints (unlocked once per  character) with mastery points (unlocked once per account).

Any chance that you unlocked hero points through World vs World using the Heroics Notary. Heroics Notary - Guild Wars 2 Wiki (GW2W)

Actually no. I left it alone for a while as most ppl thought I was confusing HP and MP or had suggestions on how to find HP.

 

I get that HP are per character and MP are account wide.

 

My question is: why do i have all the HP for a zone on a character yet none of the zone is mapped for that character.

Well as another poster asked have you ever used testimonies of heroics to unlock hero points on that character ever?

It unlock a random core, hot, pof or eod depending on which one you buy.

Is there a means to determine that? Or should I just assume that is the case?

Other then you remembering I do not think so.

Only answer I can figure out to why this would be happening tho.

It's been years since I've played. However, I do remember a period where I really got into WvW so it's probably the right answer.

Yeah, other than a bug the WvW point is the only explanation I am aware of. I have the same situation on a couple of characters that I only play in WvW.
