Labjax.2465
So I've often been doing dragonstorm daily. I know that it awards part of its rewards per account daily and part of its rewards per character daily. Today, I had a brain glitch and decided to knock out dragonstorm, forgetting it was before reset and I had done it the previous night. I look to see what I got and see I got like... one blue? Not even sure how, cause the wiki doesn't mention any rewards other than the daily character/account thing. So I just spent about 20 minutes to get basically nothing lol. Kinda seems like it should warn you not to waste your time if the rewards are gonna be that bad for repeating it. It's also getting me questioning why it's like this in the first place. I'm trying to think of how rewards work in other parts of the game and I'm not sure if there's anything else that bad about repeating it within a day. 6 1 4

That's obnoxious of them, what a terrible way to design content. Like it's one thing to make the rewards reduced, it's another to make them nothing.. 5 2 3
Vayne.8563
Yep, it's annoying. If you're going to get reduced rewards, the game should let you know up front so you can leave if that's what you choose to do. 4 1

All world-bosses are exactly like that. The boss-chest once a day per char, the bonus chest once a day per account. 4
Susy.7529
It should warn because someone's memory is so bad it can't remember if it was already done the same day (not weeks or months ago...)? 3 1 1

If you farm these things a lot, yes it can easily become confusing which you have done and which you have not. The same thing exists with raids, and you have to manually go in and see which you've completed? I'm all for more information being displayed... Also a counter in the LFG for each subsection so we have an idea of where active parties are. Instead of, late at night, mass clicking through them trying to find something to do. I hold no expectation that Anet will even see this post though. I would have thought that latter UI would have been implemented years ago. For people in the Americas the daily reset occurs in the middle of prime-time, so an in-game day does not line up with an actual day. They have to remember not only what they did the day before but what time they did it - whether it was before or after the reset time. Also I don't think it's an unreasonable request because the game already does this for a lot of things. Daily login rewards, daily achievements, time-gated crafting and so on all have things to show if you've already done it today and when it will reset so you can do it again. Since the game is already tracking whether you've got the reward or are still eligible for it I think it would be possible to make that visible to players, and it would be useful. 1 1

I turned that into a QoL proposal: 1

Days are 24 hours. Sometimes I can't remember if I did something before or after reset. I do a lot of stuff in the game in a single day sometimes. I'm bouncing all over the place. And for a while I was doing Dragon Storm every single day. Days tend to blend into each other. Sure if you only do Dragonstorm once a week it's quite easy to remember when you did it. But I'm retired, I don't often even think about what day of the week it is. While I suppose I could keep a journal and keep a list of what I did, it really would be more convenient if the game could do it for me. Save me the trouble of occasionally repeating something, because usually I'm not doing it for that tiny second reward. 2

Also worth noting, in washington time (where Anet is based) reset time is, I believe, 5:00pm, which makes sense, as that's around when most people are getting off work. But if you are any other time zone, it's not going to line up the same. For example, lots of people in EST, which makes it 8:00pm. And if you live in any kind of unscheduled way like you described, both are just "in the middle of the day / evening." Nothing noteworthy about them. And even if there was a techy way to make reset match time zone such that you're probably sleeping while it happens, it still wouldn't account for people who work night shift and such. So there's really no way to make it intuitive for everybody and it makes plenty sense to just track daily reward limits for people visibly so they know. 1
