 I do not hate them but they should be nerfed. To potent and S tier across the game in every Mode. At the same time other classes get insta kicked because they are useless. Bad Balance.

No other class is S tier Meta since RLS across the board like the guardian.

I agree. We should all have S tier meta builds somewhere. Not just Guardian.

 

Instead of tearing Guardian down, boost others up.

The nerf mentality has to change... sure individual abilities need minor tweaking when you look at the single ability over performing but the class as a whole doesn't. Bring the other classes upward...

That the guardian, at his core, is well designed, we all can say is true, but warrior was well designed in the same way, unfortunatelly, during the years, traits changes and other things get the class a bit derailed. (even though, Bladesworn elite warrior is top power dps with 37k-38k dps now).

But really, DPS guardians are on the low rank of dps now (condi willbender, condi FB are under 32k dps, power variant are even less, DH power noone is talking about it (i hope at least he get to 30k dps), quickFB is helpfull BUT have less than 30k dps in any case (don't know the exact number, but you need some concentration, so you loose damage stats for that), the only viable build atm is FB support (and the support quickness), who isn't a DPS class, but a support one.

 

On the point to boost the other classes, i am totally ok with it, nerfing isn't the real solution to balance the game

The problem is that this class is so potent that every other classes expect the engis can't reach that lvl. On the other hand when Anet would give the same kitten as the guardian has, we will even more have the boonball meta. So the only solution would be to nerf it.

eh. the simple problem with guardian in PvE Meta is its Monopoly on Stability and protection. you dont need to make a boonball meta. its these 2 which are making things annoying.

For example - if u gave these 2 boons to catalyst (maybe if the nerfs were lighter) catalyst could very easily replace Firebrand. and once you did that, what does Guardian exactly have in PvE?... DH is Subpar these days. and after the nerfs Willbender isnt doing much realistically.

Same as Necros forever held into SPVP Meta due to its monopoly on boon corruption etc etc, if u gave this to another proffession again its position would become swappable.

we are talking "to reach the same level". we're talking a specific role here realistically, its ability to role compress Quickness into a Singular build which also brings Protection and Stability, makes it a king Support option aslong side mech.

those 2 boons need spreading out. from then onwards, Guardian could fall back alittle bit naturally and things would likely even out.

Unless ur a Warrior... this would most defintly not fix warrior. warrior needs ALOT more to bring it uptoo the bar realistically.

That's not what you do when one spec is clearly ahead of the rest.  Firebrand has been overperforming for a very long time and has a stranglehold on the meta support spec.  It needs some nerfs.  

 

You can also buff the underperforming specs as well..

Because it's easier to nerf one or two classes down rather than boost six or seven other classes up, that's how it's always been for balancing in mmos. Devs do need to figure out why certain classes are taken in a particular area and maybe boost some alternatives. Like for example Warriors in wvw should be able to provide better group stability or stun breaks. Instead we get a hairbrained attempt to give them quickness.... 🙄

Game won't see proper balance and alternatives until the devs take their personal bias out of the equation and spread the love(and I don't mean by just spreading the spam of dps boons).

Support is about all Firebrand does anymore, though, so nerfing that would leave the whole spec in the gutter. The June 28th was not kind to DPS Firebrand.

Nerfing doesn't mean the spec will be in the gutter...  it means it won't be the clear best option.  Maybe other specs could fill that role competitively.  Mechanist is the only spec that's even close to FB but still not on the same level.

 

Guardian dps is a separate issue.  I thought they were doing fine and that dragonhunter and willbender were top tier but I honestly have no idea.  Everyone knows FB is the best support by far lol.

I mean that if they nerf the boons on Firebrand there will be not much point in bringing Firebrands. FBs are not doing super great since the patch from what I understand. The signets aren't nothing, but some of the main DPS traits were hit in the changes.

 

I agree other classes should be allowed to bring desirable support, but....

 

I also think the whole boon stack meta should be reconsidered. I'm a new player so maybe veterans like it but to me personally, as someone who has played many other MMORPGS, the boon stacking meta is very strange. It seems like boons are only noticed when you don't have them since they are expected to be on you 100% of the time in high end content. No other game works like that. You have long-term buffs and food but not this.

 

I guess that's another topic, though.

Guardian specializations are pretty good.

Anet dont throw away those classes that people claim to be op, just put the rest at the same level.
