Arheich.5170
don't know if it's the right place to do it, but I'll take the risk. Context: I will do WvW to get a Gift of Battle (thanks to WvW big spender and boxes of WvW supplies I'm almost halfway) but I never did WvW. The problem here it's there's the only place to get it and I really don't want to do WvW. It doesn't worth it. I have a suggestion for another place to get Gifts of Battle and make it more accessible: dungeons. My reasons: 1. To revive dungeons. Nobody does it and no one cares about it, but an important reward as GoB surely will make people think or take in consideration to do dungeons again. At least just for the GoB. 2. To make a simil with WvW reward tracks. Those reward you with the same items you can acquire in dungeons. I guess that's all. Maybe there's more, but can't remember it. Just wanted to pull out this idea inside me even if it's ignored or underestimated. Thank you very much for read. :) Edited July 9, 2022 by Arheich.5170 1
mythical.6315
The intention was likely to get players to experience all aspects of the game. Plenty of people still do dungeons. Edited July 10, 2022 by mythical.6315
Valisha.8650
I would suggest adding it to PvP instead

Labjax.2465
I think they need to just do what people have been asking for, for forever, and either make them tradeable (not ideal, since it becomes just another gold cost then) or make some kind of vendor that allows you to exchange X number of Gift of Battle for X number of Gift of Exploration and vice-versa (keeps gold out of it while allowing people to stick to one mode or the other). But generally, I just assume they haven't because they are afraid of it tanking what's left of WvW population, as that's like the one reason for a non-WvW player to even consider going in there other than curiosity. I see it as kind of a crutch, but one that may be necessary... I can't see their stats, or if they have any that would even be telling as to whether people are going in there just for that. Like if there were more and various reasons to go into WvW, maybe they would allow it, idk. Personally, if I'm not in the mood for WvW, GoB might get me to play for however long it takes to complete the reward track, but then I'm gone again. There's also just the problem of rewards that they will hopefully be addressing, in that if you want certain rewards in the game, you want to farm gold for example, WvW is objectively an inferior way to spend your time for getting them while at the same time being a high level of expectation for attention with both its participation timer and the way people lead (being almost constantly on the move). Which is part of why I don't seek out WvW more often. Maybe more so than the rewards themselves, I find the inability to find natural breaks to be the most off-putting part of it. 2 1

Neither I think it should be tradable, but exchangeable wit Gif of Exploration is a good idea (specially when you get 2 from map completion). I also have in consideration that people should left WvW if that happens. And it's a shame if that happens because the game name is Guild Wars 2. 2 hours ago, Labjax.2465 said: Personally, if I'm not in the mood for WvW, GoB might get me to play for however long it takes to complete the reward track, but then I'm gone again. I'll surely do that. I'll get all GoB I need for the legendaries I need and never touch WvW again.

That game mode has been neglected for half a decade by now and just like other types of content - PvP, fractals, raids -, there is no connection point between your everyday open world content and WvW besides the GoB. 4

It's instanced content. That's why I suggested the idea here. And dungeons have been neglected for a longer time than WvW. The only actualization Anet did was merging its currencies. That's all. I always check the lfg to see if there's someone to do a dungeon and there's no one, but in WvW always I go there for Big Spender achievem. there's people there.
Fueki.4753
Dungeons already have their own gifts. Unless Gift of Exploration becomes acquirable in WvW, there should not be a way to acquire Gift of battle in PvE. 2
