Change the roller beetle's Roll Out skill

Recommended Posts

I accept that the beetle is tricky to control, but I wish the Roll Out skill (the main dismount/engage skill) was better. It doesn't fire consistently; if the beetle hits a pebble and is 1 mm off the ground you will fly 50 yards pass your target. And when it does fire, it requires you to activate it far in advance to actually land at your target. Combat situations and terrain don't always allow for the that.

Yeah, either this or give us the possibility to dismount midair just like with griffon and skyscale in the recent patch.

You can always use the leap skill for this. Since being in midair is the exception rather than the rule, that should be more than sufficient. Griffon and Skyscale are different in that regard because they are flying mounts and you have use cases such as flying towards an updraft to take it with your glider. Doesn't exist for the beetle.

I think it's fine that the engage skill of the beetle is hard to use effectively. It's a freaking racing machine and it's behaving about how you'd expect from a giant ball. If you want to use a mount to seriously engage a difficult enemy, just use the rabbit/raptor. Personally I got used to the roll out so I'm usually able to time it quite well. Don't really see the issue.

Sure Leap of Faith is a good emergency dismount but I'd prefer to dismount the regular way even midair, if I had the choice, because the beetle purposely or accidentally bounces a lot (even if you know how to handle Petey like a pro)
