Lost Coin 6 Challenger Cliffs / Dry Top

Recommended Posts

It's totally doable with a Charr, let alone a human, what are you talking about?

The ceiling looks pretty up there, and there looks to be ample room for any model to stand on top of the coin, and before.

If you don't want to do it this way, then get a Skyscale and climb from below.

Though, this way looks pretty easy in itself.

There is no possible way for a human male model to not bump his head into something.

As mentioned by Ashantara.8731:

All player character models in this game, no matter their size or appearance, have the same hit-box size. This leads to a slightly larger hit-box than character size for Azura, about the same size as medium human/sylvari and slightly smaller hit-box for Norn and Charr.

The same goes for movement speed, which too is identical, which once again leads to very different animation and walking speed visuals across different sized characters while the actual covered ground is the same.

As to difficulty, yes having hit-boxes which are larger or smaller than the appearance of the character can lead to more confusion and some players prefer specific races for jumping puzzles just because of that.

Thanks, that (having the same hitbox) would make perfect sense from a balance perspective of course.

It must have been in the mind.

I took another approach (different angle as opposed to all the videos I've watched) in the morning with a clear head and got it fairly easily.

Still, I feel more comfortable using small characters for JPs because somehow I can aim better.

I also find the animations fool me. Because of the larger size, Norn and Charr have slower animations, which makes me feel like they have less energy, and messes with my sense of how far they can jump.

Ditto.

Besides the issue you mentioned, Charr models are leaning forward while their actual hitbox is aligned to a vertical axis that is centered at the waist, which makes precise landing very difficult. (That's also why a Charr's face often stucks in an NPC's face when they interact with them for conversation. It's rather hilarious. 😄)

Have you tried it?

I looks easy, sure...nearly impossible though.

I use my Skyscale to get around that map, the crystals are way too annoying.

So i couldn't really tell you if i picked that coin up or not, but i honestly wouldn't do it without a skyscale...

But... like others said, all characters have the same hitbox, just, camera can be your worst enemy when doing those, paired with larger races being percieved as slower.

Maybe try the first person camera, line up so that you get a clear sight where you want to go, then just launch yourself with the crystal.

You are doing that right? Launching yourself over the gap with the crystal power, not trying to jump?

Also, now there's loads new ways of helping yourself if you fail, the Jade bot glider upgrade will lift you up if you fail the ledge, you can try gliding to it...

Or hell, try jumping over it with a raptor, glide across it with a skimmer or griffon, those won't just drop to the ground, and you'll have more control. Also first person if the camera won't cooperate. 😉

I don't see any mount or glider restrictions in that video so, there's ways you can do it.

I believe it's hard, i'm not saying it isn't, but it should be doable. All puzzles were made for the same hitbox, so all races should be able to do them.

But if all else fails, pop a tonic of some kind, i use Kodan and Watchknight tonic when the large charr size messes with the camera, or when i can't really tell where their feet land on certain pixel small platforming...
