Danikat.8537
News article with more info: https://www.guildwars2.com/en-gb/news/amazon-prime-day-up-to-50-off-path-of-fire-and-up-to-20-off-gem-cards/ It requires Amazon Prime membership to qualify and looks like it's only available in the US and certain European countries. It may be possible to buy from one of those Amazon sites even if you're in another country, but sometimes that doesn't work for digital transactions and unless you're able to pay with dollars or euros (or UK pounds) the currency conversion/bank fees may cancel out the discount. (I can't check this myself because I'm in the UK and don't have Amazon Prime.) 2
mungozen.2379
This item is not available for purchase due to geographical restrictions. Canada, shafted again.

jediwolf.8724
Isn't that always the way. Canada and may other countries are always excluded.
GODh.3892
I can't speak for other parts of the world, but someone explain to Anet that the EU is bigger than UK, FR, DE, IT and ES. All other countries are excluded from this "sale". Gemcards are not available or the webiste does not recognize our Prime membership, so we have to pay the normal price. Include everyone or do not have this kind of sales. IMO it's a form of discrimination! Edited July 13, 2022 by GODh.3892 typos 2 2

It's your local laws standing in the way. Edited July 13, 2022 by Donari.5237 1 2 1

I can buy gems via a different amazon website, but then i got no discount, because that other site does not recognize my prime subscription. And afaik gems were never a discussion... lootboxes are a discussion in some countries, but not gems. Danikat.8537
Considering Anet had to contact Amazon to ask them why PoF isn't discounted in the UK like it's supposed to be instead of changing it themselves it might be that Amazon are the ones deciding which sites/countries are included in the sale. Or it's an arrangement between the two companies which has to be done separately for each country (I'm not sure about the others but I've heard Amazon UK is semi-independent from Amazon US) and they only had time to negotiate with a few of them. One of many things I never wanted to know about marketing is how stupidly complicated even a seemingly simple arrangement can be, especially when more than one company is involved. One of many reasons I don't miss working retail.
