Frewg.5496
So lets say I have Armor 1 as my stat armor, Armor 2 as the armor I want to transmute to. I replace Armor 1 with Armor 2 in the wardrobe, then change Armor 2 dye on Preset 1. But when I change to Preset 2 my equipped Armor 2 has the same dye from Preset 1. Do I have to change my whole Preset 2's armor set to something different from Preset 1's armor set and worry about equivalent stats AND transmutations, to be able to have independent dyes on each set of armor with more than 1 Preset Wardrobe? Or do Dyes apply to the one item across all transmutations, which would be very unfortunate considering that you can only have one piece of every armor? Linken.6345
If it is the same armor and it is not legendary you cant dye it differently.
Danikat.8537
Dyes apply to the armour piece, not the equipment template (same with skins). If you're using the same item in 2 templates it will look the same in both. The equipment templates are purely to allow you to save sets with different stats, not for skins and dyes. The one exception is legendary armour, because those work differently. They're technically seperate copies of the item in each equipment tab, so they can have different skins and dyes. 5

This can create a situation that you want to exchange a armor between characters of different races and if it is transmuted with a racial skin the other character can't even equip it, hence not change the skin. A little cumbersome to handle.
