3 ways to make Bladesworn more fun to use (for me)

Note: Each of the following suggestions would be ok on their own.  But would not mind all of them. 😗

  • Let us move while in Dragon Trigger with 50% Movement Speed.
  • Let us dodge while in Dragon Trigger without exiting Dragon Trigger. No charge gain while dodging.
  • Let us keep our charges when exiting Dragon Trigger. Atleast for a set duration.

I think the charges should stay if you leave prematurely. Dodging while in DT should happen as well.

Delete the spec 😈

Too late for that. People already coughed up the money for EoD. It would be a smack in the face to people that already paid for it. Should've deleted it at beta.

Warrior was always intended as the weapon-swap profession, and Gunblade is the profession mechanic (along with DT in place of normal burst skills) of this spec. Warriors should still be able to swap between weapons. The drawback to not be able to swap is a little hard-hitting and less fun.

You'd think after 9 years with 100 Blades, Arenet devs would have noticed that warriors don't like stationary channeling melee skills.

Actually, I'd be fine with BsW as it now. Whatever...I don't think I'll ever really enjoy the spec.

But please for the love of all gods, don't have 100 Blades root me and cancel on movement! Let me enjoy a greatsword without having to play the "stationary game".
That's all, thanks!

Big yes on this one. It's insane to me we have a second layer of a decaying resource that imposes serious restrictions to obtain.

Ammo charges should persist outside of DT.

Tbh the stability and aegis on DT will be obnoxious if you can dodge and move while charging on top.

They'd be less important if you can move while charge, or even  if you keep charges that you don't spend. Instead Dragon Scale Defense could become a stunbreak when entering DT on a 20s CD. The protection on Immortal Dragon could probably stay though.

Let’s go point by point;

1. Let us move in dragon trigger.

No, I don’t agree with this. As long as Dragonscale Defense remains as it is, I think it’s actually a fairly structured trade off. Not that it doesn’t need adjustment, but I don’t think the root is the fundamental problem.

2. Let us dodge in Dragon Trigger

Absolutely! In fact, I think it would be very cool if the dodge was a quick dash side step kinda thing instead of a role, and charging is stopped during the duration of the dodge. Would greatly improve DT. You would have to remove the ability to cancel DT with WSAD so you can control dodge direction though. (Side point; does weapon stow cancel DT? Or would you have to use f1/esc?)

3. Let us keep charges.

Again, hard agree. I don’t think it would be unreasonable to even not have a decay aspect (or decay down to 5 then set there). It would give bladesworn a much better ability to enter fights strong, which could help keep the spec more viable when the needed self-healing nerf comes.
