It seems right now the devs are scrambling to make their old content viable again because they finally realised they can't just keep making infinite new content indefinitely, which is a lesson we thought they learned in LWS1. But I'd imagine no one from that era even remains, so that explains that. You know what though? I agree, they should go back and update old content and make it much more viable not only to new players, but to veterans, because there's already alot of it and adding more things to do will only make the game even more stale than it is, rather than revitalising it, because each new task is one less player available for a different task, so you end up with stuff like one single party listed for a certain type of content in the LFG, if you're lucky, out of hundreds of thousands of players. The population has been stretched like a rubber band. Consider, at release PvE players filled several dozen servers, and now they can't even fill one megaserver, and that's to say nothing of the competitive game modes which are in even worse shape (especially since WvW still lacks megaserver/Alliances). The best thing we need right isn't Guild Wars 3, its Guild Wars 2.0., where everything they've already done is polished and streamlined into a consistent experience. Yeah well welcome to how wvw has been feeling for years then. For some reason anet thinks pve 10 man content is the future, creating strikes to be that bridge to raids, creating a new end game map meta that pushes casuals into organization of all 50 people on the map, then leading to a strike again to get the new mount. I guess they think the players abandoning WoW will somehow end up in gw2 to do their raids(even though FFXIV has better raiding), so they're making this hard push to funnel people into the organized content, even in wvw they're trying to funnel people into the boon balls. 🙄 Funny how as soon as the game released they abandoned traditional dungeons for fractals, then they decided to go the traditional expansion route, including raids, but then decide to half abandon everything else in the game for strikes. Again we can blame the restructuring of their team, covid, director shuffles, but as usual with anet they're just chasing after a new batch of players with content that most of their old customers probably don't even care for. Anet needs to also continue building what they've already built, not just add new stuff to abandon the rest, even if that means at the very least adding one new fractal, one raid, one spvp map, or fixing one bug or exploit in wvw per year (ok ok I guess we'll count the queue bug fix for this years fix when it's finally fixed in two years). 😕 Living story is the only thing that has managed to survive this long with regular updates, I guess that section of the game manages to hype people enough to keep the cash flowing. Reworking season 1 to add to the game again isn't a bad thing, people have been asking for it, but to me it seems really odd timing on their part. Why add this right after a new expansion? instead of getting one season of new living story out to immediately continue the expansion story, to continue the hype, and then dive into season 1 after as a break in between. It feels like by adding season 1 now they've temporarily abandoned the expansion already 🤭 Only reasoning I can think of is they don't need to have a full team on it and can take time to build the next expansion. In any case focusing on 10 man strike content and making the rest of their game suffer is a bad idea all around. 4

Thanks They need to focus more on their strengths rather then trying to appeal to new players by doing everything half arsed. WvW was suppose to be GW2's thing. Back when GW2 was being announced I remember how focused they were towards this game mode. Truth be told WvW was the reason why I played GW2 because of it's PvP system. If I wanted to play PvE I can always go to another MMO and do it, its all really the same...AI, rotation, etc. FFXIV does it better, WoW used to do it better, GW2 should've capitalized on their strengths. It would be awesome if there was a WvW map rotation with different themes per month to keep things spicy. Or terrain manipulation to make things different. There is so much things they could've done with WvW but simply ignored. 2 1
