Why does acquiring the Skyscale seem to take ten times longer than the last time?

 

I got a second account to experience GW2 like I did 10 years ago. 

 

Has anyone else found the same?

Err, if anything it's easier now since you get a bunch of the mats you need while doing "Return To" for the legendary amulet.

And they got rid of the 24h timegate that was there if you did it at launch.

And what specifically do you think "took 10 times longer"?

It’s because 

a) You know what’s coming this time and you feel the drag

b) You are (I’m guessing) actively pursuing it, rather than doing it in stages whilst doing other things when we still had other just released content around. That will skew your perception

I also have an alt acct and i won't be getting the skyscale until there is a discounted LW release in gemstore (a bundle or two would be nice!). This results in the means of acquiring LW currencies being quite stymied.

Good point, that's probably what it is -just casually doing it here and there vs trying to beeline into finishing it asap.

I'm sure if I would to do it again, although much easier now, it'll seem longer.

When doing it at Release, everyone were doing it and there was a sense of urgency to be one of the first to show-off your new mount. Aside from that, with so many doing it, there were lots of people to help with any events, teleporting, etc.
