Regarding the canceled mirage nerfs, I wanted to say ....

Mesmer is still waiting for its basic attention too. We were supposed to get a focused patch on Aug 2nd. Mechanist gained more then we did in that patch. Warriors got paragraphs. Memser got a crit damage increase on a low crit spec. Like what?

I 100% sympathize with Elementalists as they're also neglected but yeah we're still waiting for our share as well.

Both massively need attention. Mesmer more in the way of utility traits then dps. I don't know where to begin with Ele.

that ele still exists. Even if there is literally no reason to play it.

Thank you for your attention

The explanation given for cancelling the mirage nerfs definitely applies to elementalist as well. I suspect they haven't had time to consider what they need to do with elementalist since they realised that golem benchmarks from top players don't necessarily correlate to realistic performance.

It still amazed me that after so many years they finally realized that? Don't get me wrong, baby steps are better than 0 steps. I just felt a bit pathetic that we need to celebrate over this baby step.

Again, don't get me wrong, I did celebrate this. Good job, Anet... and don't forget this is the very first step: realization. Tons of challenges await.

That is one of those strange things Anet is doing with support catalyst.  Normally, the strategy for damage reductions is simply to require the use of Diviner gear.  Giving the quickness on sphere a base 3 second duration would be enough to be meaningful for solo players, but prevent stacking in those rare fights.  If you wanted to stack Catalysts, you could do it, but you'd lose Hardened Auras and Empowering Empowerment, resulting in a -20% DPS from running a pure damage build.  Full Diviner itself results in a 25% damage reduction.

I really do not like the -10% damage on Sphere Specialist for this reason.  It means that, if you wanted to make a competent boon Catalyst, you're taking even further hits.  You take hits for running arcane, you take hits for taking Sphere Specialist, and then you take even more hits for running diviner gear to have competent boons everywhere else in the build.  They could've just reduced the base duration to 3 seconds of quickness, and this would've resulted more diverse and superior build choices for the catalyst.  Instead, Anet sequestered quickness to a trait with a mandatory damage reduction, all buff and support builds be darned.

Not that amazing, unfortunately. The balance team got caught with their hand in the cookie jar and now they're actually being held accountable.

We’ll see. The leak did force them do something, but they didn’t realize what’s wrong yet. Following up a few patches, we still saw unreasonable changes and they didn’t revert Catalyst nerf yet.

Now for the latest preview, it was exciting to see they acknowledged the real issue, and indeed postponed “twice” for unreasonable changes. If I recalled correctly, that’s indeed the first time they really did this. Can they keep on? We all know that what they said and did often didn’t match at all. They could be claiming A yet did the complete opposite… Call me pessimistic but I want to see matching actions in a few rows to actually believe they’re really on track this time.
