Petition to move a certain Tengu NPC in Arborstone

Recommended Posts

"This is a place of refuge, not a den of iniquity"

Well... what would make it a place of refuge is if this kitten birdman got moved away from the most frequented area of Arborstone... Please, the ambient chatter is getting on my nerves! Normally I can laugh at "That's quality armor" and "No no no, we must go to the armory" being repeated in places where you go seldomly, but the TP/bank area in Arborstone which is quite central to activities in Cantha, well, it's crazy. Surely you can stick the sour-puss in some other corner 😉

Maybe it was a strategic decision to place him there so people are annoyed by a Tengu and stop asking for Tengu as a playable race.
I certainly developed negative feelings towards Tengu because of him.

I hereby sign my name for this.

I've made it a point to just turn dialogue completely off if I know I'm going to be spending time in Arborstone specifically because of that Tengu every time I approach the post.

Just move them across the hall. Where no one really visits. Please.

Yeah, honestly arborstone is a good hub upgraded but i wish the rested xp buff wasn't tied to the place but just global so you could still use other places or the lower computer heat zones. A +25% rested xp after unlocking arborstone for wherever you go, (or at least major cities/inns), would be nice.

That and the "Im Rich, you know" and "more violets, less violence" npcs could really moved down to fill up more space, perhaps the center or the training hall challenge.

Nobody will ever ask for Dominion of Winds to open its gates now 😄

This would be the greatest marketing move Anet has ever done.

Hey guys how do we get people to stop wanting to be bird people.... "Just make em annoying af"

I would add the ooze/plumbing event by the Lily of Elon, and, while it amuses me somewhat (less and less so the more I hear it), "Meatloaf again/Quaggan kitten (wow, this is actual dialog from the game, and yet it got kittened XD) in Drizzlewood. It'd be nice to at least reduce the frequency. Although the latter dialog at least makes sense to hear so often, since the charr is complaining about having meatloaf yet again XD

While I agree with the feeling, I must say that by the same logic, asuras (asurans?) would equally fit the bill. As a former WoW player, they strike me as combining the worst characteristics of both gnomes and goblins.

This being said, I entirely sign this petition! Ambient dialogue is good. Repetitive ambient dialogue in a high-traffic area is not so good. Repetitive, shrieking slander in a hight-traffic area is like nails on a chalkboard.

I agree, we should have an option to just turn off ambient dialogue. I do like ambient dialogue because it makes the world seem more alive, but hearing the same conversations play out again and again does the opposite.

I was thinking this too. Though I wonder if it would also mute NPC chatter during events and such, which wouldn't necessarily be desired. Like if they are both considered ambient dialogue behind the scenes. They could prob separate them into two different types if so, but would be more work I'm sure.

Anyway yeah, being able to silence those repeating dialogue bits would be great.

NPC dialog should only be triggered once per map instance. And you shouldn't be able to hear them if triggered by someone else.

The NPC at Silverwastes was another that's rather annoying. Incessantly repeating the same thing if you stay too long near him while visiting the vendor.

The voice acting is so spot on for Meatloaf Again, I still love it. Then again, I’m only ever in that camp long enough to grab some keys, so I don’t hear it that much.
