Weekly Reset First Match SUX if you can't get into WvW before immediately.

World Restructuring won't help if people can't play during weekly reset first match.

1) it's so bad that you need to get in the map during the first tenth of a second or you get stuck in Q for 2 hours or more, missing the first match completely.

2) It doesn't help the EotM awards no pips, and is bugged to the point that killing lords and standing in rings til cap, awards zero map participation sometimes, so you don't even get reward track progress.

 

suggestions:

1) weekly reset first match or two needs to offer more full WvW maps for overflow, using full masteries and awarding full rewards (pips, participation, reward tracks, bags, etc...)

1a) do away with "home" borderlands and just offer us more maps, and more selection of maps so people can play on whichever borderland they prefer, without a single map giving one side an advantage.

2) if servers could handle it, first reset match needs to allow higher populations on the WvW map. i know this is a large financial investment on Anet's part, and is less feasible than offering full WvW more maps.

Newsflash: You dont actually need to play on reset. Queues is a sign of a healthy gamemode yet people see that as a problem.

Ignoring that, none of your ideas are feasable or would work for WvW in practice. There is no solution to high population aside from lowering the population. But if you're up for some murdering...

  • One "type of map" (EBG) capable of holding many different maps/variations with superficial differences (like WoT)
  • Overflow generation of maps instead of queues
  • Scoring system that only applies matchup scores on maps where all teams are within 25% of population to each other
  • Personal score/rewards on all maps

Solves the following problems:

  • Timezone / nightcapping / population congestion issues
  • Population balance issues in tandem with World Restructuring
  • Queues
  • Lack of maps/development: New maps can become new staple content when/if made with clear WvW direction in mind
  • Such content would also be expansive, not replacive - making the day to day experience better over time

Any competent and caring developer would have implemented this within the past 10 years 🤡

 "The commander is in another instance that is full because I didnt instantly queue on reset, THIS SYSTEM IS kitten WVW IS UNPLAYABLE!"
