Symbolic Burst Skills concept. [Monk Spec]

Warrior does not have a Healing Weapon and even if we got one with Monk, its questionable if that is enough. So why not turn all Bursts into a Support Variant?

Here is my concept.

 

Symbolic Bursts (Playholder Name)

  • Burst work exactly like Core Bursts when it comes to Adrenalin. 3 Tiers based on it. ( I would only change the way its gathered in for a Monk spec)
  • The Symbolic Burst have two parts to them. The Upfront effect and a Symbol (like Guardian) that they leave behind.
  • Size/Duration of the Symbol and the Upfront effects effectivness is based on the Adrenalin used.
  • All Symbols puls damage every second but on the lower scale. ( Tagging is very much needed in wvw 😗)

Examples

Greatsword Burst:

  • Shoot out a 900 Range narrow coneshaped Wave that Heals people based on the health on the Ally. The lower the health the higher the healing.
  • Leaves behind a cone shaped Symbol that pulses Fury and Might.

Hammer Burst:

  • Give Allies Stability, Protection and Aegis in a round Aoe in the landing Area.
  • Leaves behind a Symbol that pulses Healing and Resistance.

Sword Burst:

  • Channeled Ability( Not rooted). The Warrior raises his Sword above his head pulsing Healing , Regeneration, Swiftness and Vigor.
  • Leaves behind a Symbol that Cleases Conditions and pulses Healing.

 

Adrenalin Gain

Maybe let the Monk gain Adrenalin by Healing and Boons. This way a Warrior doesnt need to be 100% in Melee Range to get the Adrenalin he needs.

Or something like that.

 

Trait idea

Smiters Boon(Minor): Gain Outgoing Healing Based on your Power. Gain Power based on your Healing Power.

Adrenaline becomes Faith.

Gain Faith by healing an ally, 1 Faith per packet of healing including regenerative effects.

Master Minor trait: Heal other allies you grant might to. 100/75 Healing, 0.1 scaling (PvE/Comp)

GM Minor: Gain increased Healing power and Concentration when under the effects of Protection. Gain of 240 each.

Utility type: Prayers
Prayers have a duration on their targets, and pulse effects each interval, with a final effect on the last interval.

Heal: Healing Word: You and allies in the area are healed for 600 hp/second (0.2 scaling) for 4s, on the last pulse affected allies heal for 3000 hp (0.2 scaling)

Protective Spirit: You and allies in the area gain protection for 2s each interval and 400 barrier each interval. 4s duration. On the last interval gain 4s of protection and 2.5k barrier.

Divine Favor: you and allies in the area are cleansed of 1 condition and resistance for 1s every second for 4s. On the last pulse cleanse 4 conditions and gain resistance for 4s.

Prayer of Resolve: Break stun for you and allies in the area. Gain 1 stack of stability for 1s and superspeed for 1s every second for 4s. On the last interval gain 4 stacks of stability for 5s and 5s of superspeed.

Holy Smite: Target for and foes near them take 1 stack of burning for 3s and damage (can crit, scaling of 0.4), every second for 4s. On the last pulse affected foes take 4 stacks of burning for 8s and increased damage (scaling of 2.5, can crit).

Elite: Smiter's Boon: Allies in the area gain 25 might and resistance for 4s. Foes in the area suffer from 25 stacks of vulnerability and weakness for 4s. 90s CD.

GM Trait 1: Protective Prayers: Prayers grant 1s of protection on their initial pulse and 2s of protection on their final pulse.

GM Trait 2: Protective Symbols: Symbols grant 1s of protection to allies on each interval.

GM Trait 3: Wrathful Strikes: Burn foes in an area (1 stack for 4s) every forth strike. (Yeah that's right blue children, deal with it).

MM 1: Movement skills grant Protection in an area around you when cast (2s) 10s ICD

MM 2: When disabling a foe grant barrier (500 with 0.05 scaling) in an area around you.

MM 3: When critically striking a foe weaken them for 5s and torment them (5 stacks for 5s). 10s ICD

AM 1: Your symbols cripple struck targets (2s).

AM 2: Your symbols burn struck targets (1 stack for 4s).

AM 3: Your symbols cleanse 1 condition per interval on affected allies.

Weapon: Staff. Not melee. 1200 range.
Skill 2 is heavy burn and power damage AoE on a 4s/6s CD (PvE/Comp).
Skill 3 is a ranged spike heal at the target location, foes in that area are blinded for 5s. 10s CD
Skill 4 is a ranged daze (2s). AoE. Ground targeted. Allies in that area gain vigor for 5s. 12s CD
Skill 5 is a pulsing AoE at target foe's location. Pulses 2 stacks of burn each second and barrier on allies in the area (500, 0.05 scaling) each second for 5s. 20s CD.

Symbolic Burst: PBAoE heal for 1000 HP (0.5, 1.0, 1.5 scaling per tier), cleanses 1/2/3 conditions per tier, and strikes foes for damage (0.3/0.4/0.6 scaling, this is meant to trigger on Burst hit Traits, not any real DPS).

I really like this concept as well, WRATH is the go-to for their build-up bar though 100%.

Balthazar play with Monk is sick, as people mentioned above. Symbols are a neat choice to spread to another profession.

 

Honestly, I want to see Warrior's Cunning also count Shroud as Barrier for sake of damage mods. Maybe even bring it back from 10% to like 15-20%? Obviously this is with the idea that Bladesworn gets an attitude adjustment but would be fun for the fabtabulous Gunflame memes!
