Full hard drive when game wants to update gives bad error/fail message.

Recommended Posts

I recently tried to update my game client and I got the message: "Unable to update Guild Wars 2. Please try again. If the problem persists, please contact customer support." (see attachment).

This was caused by my SSD being full, and the fix was cleaning the drive to make space for the update.
I would like to point out that the error message is not particularly helpfull in this situation as "Trying again" will not help.

It potentially also lead to my Guild Wars 2 installation folder filling with temporary files named  Gw2-64.100 - Gw2-64.999 that did not get removed. (see attachment)
The files could be safely deleted without any issue.

Thought this was worth sharing and bringing to your attention.

Best regards.
