Petition to finally add Mystic Coin gambling.

As Ecto-gambling is the only thing developers are encouraging, since some time now, with their neglect towards players that want to more than just mindlessly auto-attack nothingness, I would like to propose adding finally after years long-awaited Mystic Coin gambling.

With its release, Canach's Club was a great opportunity to add such a thing, but...... it happened to be terribly wasted. May the developers redeem themselves by adding Mystic Coin gambling soon?

It is pretty annoying to exchange all the hoarded mystic coins for the stacks of ectoplasm, it is very un-fun mediator.

Moreover adding such a thing could maybe increase the price of the mystic coins on the Trading Post, to give all the newer players little more value with their daily mystic coin rewards.

 

My hopes, for adding this, now rest with you, my developers. 🙂

Hoarded mystic coins? Why not sell them? They already have a use, people making login bots and hoarding or prices rising or falling as they're used in masse for legendaries is already a pretty good dump. Sure, it might give login people more gold but also at the same time the reason a tp tax even exists is to prevent inflation and yet you wouldn't see anyone shed many tears if it went away until inflation came with it.

Mythic coin hoarders don't need tailor made updates because if you're rich enough to hoard more than you can use, one probably chose to buy more than they could use in terms of wanting a easy profit. They already have a great dump for most people. Selling on the ah and letting supply and demand and the economy with gold from other activities fund demand.

Now. 6879 Excess essences of luck past the 300 cap with a exchange rate only available less than once a year and extremely tedious to exchange on the other hand.

You can't even do anything with luck 11/12 months of the year while you can sell coins on the tp anytime or make a legendary anytime. And people will properly point out that's a 1% problem having more luck than you can use, but how often does someone float past 250 mythic coins where a tp post is locked in all months but december? Pretty much never.  😛 , Coins are so much finer as is. It's literally the only people this would majority benefit are people trying to hoard who already have dumps lol.

ps. you need mystic clovers to build a legendary weapon gen 1+3, then you can sell them with profit

Did someone make a bad investment? For some reason this reminds me of a person in map chat trying to sell his mystic coins right after the change happened. He had bought tons of it and tried to manipulate ppl to buy them as “price is bound to rise very soon” sadly for him it did not and ppl did not buy his shenanigans. 👀 

the price is fine as it is now. It was too expensive at one point and anet made changes to fix it. Not break it. So it seems they are satisfied with the prices in trade post now.

In gambling you are guaranteed to lose in the long run. Just delete some of your coins and you end up with the same result.

I don't quite understand the idea of new players benefiting from mystic coin price increase? If they want to make anything legendary, they are gonna need loads of them. And for potentially years to come if they start getting into making more than one legendary, which is possible.

They are also needed for the mystic weapons to complete the specialization weapon collections for HoT, which is the first expansion new players will hit if they do it in order.

I think the appeal for new players would be converting MC into liquid gold for gem conversion since new players wouldn't have a lot of gold?  Making legendary items isn't a short-term goal for newer players so they'd rather get the other QoL items from the gem store and play the game?  Just my thoughts.

I do not think there's any point for this. The difference between ecto and MC gambling is that we can easily make up for amount of ectos destroyed by just salvaging more stuff - ecto can be farmed for. MC generation however is capped, so gambling would result ina net loss of already limited supply of that material. We have finally managed to get MC situation under control, where the prices are more reasonable, so i don;t see any reason to introduce something that would imbalance that market again. The only people that would gain from it would be the ones that still have large stash of hoarded MCs - and would not participate in gambling itself.

Besides, let's imagine that there's indeed gambling, and you happen to win. What would you win? You guessed right - you'd get more MCs. Which would not solve the problem of having a lot of MCs and having trouble of liquidating them you mentioned.

So, again, no point to this at all.

And if you want to gamble, just sell MCs, buy ecto and gamble with it.

I really, really do not like this idea.  

Ecto gambling is such a terrible idea that they haven't implemented more...go figure.  Let's not add more gambling style things for people to complain about or mess up the mystic coin market.  

Would I welcome more rewards that we could trade Canach coins for....sure.  Trade for mat bags, why not.

Why? What purpose would Mystic Coin gambling serve that couldn't be applied to something else? I don't think people even bother with the ectoplasm gambling beyond morbid curiosity.
