After 2 years i have come back to a great game. I love it, BUT bugs in the story line in both expansions is making it impossible to like the game. Some of the bugs are instanced and some are not most I have found work around on youtube . I came back for WvW but my old guild is gone and i can't get back into starting over so I just wanted to play the story for each expansion. After SO many bugs I am weary of continuing. The community is great so much help with hero points and shitty tough mobs in the HoT expansion but Im still stuck. The point isn't to get unstuck it's to say after 100's of hours of trying to first find my class and build and second work my way though the story im just weary to start over another instance. i'm afraid this is why many people leave the game not because the game isn't good, or the community is bad.

Thank you everyone who helped me get as far as I did, thank you anet for showing me my breaking point

I only encountered one bug in expansion story content (HoT or PoF) so maybe I'm lucky -- it was as soon as the content dropped where we taught Aurene how to get through a maze or something. I reset the instance and tried again with no problem. How bad are these bugs that they're literally keeping you from progressing at all?

FWIW, I was talking to one of the guys in your old guild and he said everything fell apart when you left. Apparently, you were the glue that held everything together! Just go play the game some and see if you meet new people. There are lots of players in GW2 and I'm sure they'd want to have someone like you. :)

I cant speak for the OP, but for myself, some real life friends, and for some guildmates there is a tendency for story instances to crash right at the end. This requires retrying, sometimes multiple times, in order to progress the story.

Some of the bugs were due to a problem with the revenant skills that "shadow step" or flip in the air doing damage then finding yourself stuck in a wall. some were disconnects at the end of an instance that then made me have to start over. all in all i switched professions to counter some of the bugs but my new character is stuck after progressing the HoT expansion through the tangled depths to the last "i assume" quest line of the area i'm standing at the last marker and all of progress disappears and the marker stays so i cant go back or forward.... anet is looking at the problem but after so many i am just weary.
